“Academy is one of those stores where you walk in for one simple thing… like socks… and somehow leave an hour later wondering why you’re holding a fishing rod, a basketball, beef jerky, and a camping chair.
I’ve always liked Academy because it’s basically a playground for anyone who enjoys the outdoors or sports. You can find pretty much anything—fishing gear, workout equipment, shoes, grills, coolers, and enough random gadgets to convince you that you suddenly need to become more outdoorsy.
The prices are usually pretty solid and the selection is huge. It’s also nice being able to actually try on shoes or see equipment in person instead of guessing online and hoping it works out.
The only downside sometimes is finding someone on the floor when you need help, but honestly half the time I’m just wandering around discovering things I didn’t know I wanted anyway.
Overall, great store with tons of options and good prices. Just be careful… it’s very easy to go in for one thing and leave with five. Solid 4 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐”
