“We had a lithium battery fire in our garage ( electric scooter ignited for no reason) and I was told not to start my car, have it towed to a garage. I was really worried it would smell terribly with the toxic fumes but it’s all good now! My red 05 Dodge van had some issues, after the move. It had come some 2000 miles that week.
A new (to me) neighbor suggested Scannells, and gave me the phone number. The next day, I took the old truck in.

“I absolutely cannot recommend this shop highly enough. Our journey started in Sept when the transmission in my wife's Tahoe bit the dust. Every interaction with Mr. Jim was beyond expectation, from the first call to the day we picked it back up. He is a genuinely wonderful person to work with. A few weeks ago the trans started having a minor issue so we brought it in. Mr. Jim found a manufacturing issue and got everything handled for us. Family Auto really is a rarity these days. “My car needed axel work and a new wheel bearring unit. I was quoted a very reasonable price.
Apparently my wheel bearring case was rusted and it pushed the labor time from 1.5 hours to more than 8 hours. I know how frustrating this would be for a shop. They lost money on this job but the owner honored the price he quoted.

“I called for an estimate and went in that day. Took all of maybe 5 minutes, and I had what I needed. I already had 2 other estimates for replacement of the liftgate as they told me it could not be repaired, but Bill told me it didn't need to be replaced. Bill and his guys came through 100%. Dent is completely gone as if it was never damaged. Paint matches. I had something fly up on 45 that hit my hood and took the paint off with 2 deep indentations. They were able to fix that also. I am 100% pleased with the work and will definitely refer Bill and his crew to others. This was not an insurance claim since my daughter rearended me in the driveway. Bill is super easy to work with and work was completed in a timely manner. I am grateful that Bill is a fair and honest man, as it is hard to find an honest business man nowadays. Thank you”

“Roger and team are awesome. I have a Rivian and needed to put running boards on so my 90 year-old parents can get in and out of it. Two places wouldn’t do it, but Roger got me in the next day. They not only put the running boards on beautifully, but he was nice enough to buff off some scratches that were on my front bumper. He charged me a good price. “I was told by two random unrelated people to come here for a vehicle because I was having trouble getting into a vehicle due to a motorcycle wreck that unfortunately partially amputated my right foot and kept me from being able to work for about 7 months while it healed after being reattached.

I have not been disappointed.

Jim has been helpful and Lake Conroe Motors was the only dealership I could find that was willing to give me a chance without current work history and pretty bad credit that I am currently working to correct. All I was asking for was a chance.

I see a lot of complaints about the vehicles not being clean or having issues. Let me address those as someone not related to the business.

The vehicle wasn't clean when I got it, but I have seen plenty of nice clean broken vehicles. Clean doesn't make it reliable or a good choice. If you want clean there are plenty of places that offer that by default.

He is able to move his inventory fast, I have seen it myself. The cars don't just sit on the lot. He doesn't have to clean them to move them. Would it make them more appealing? Probably.... But cleaning them will do exactly nothing to make it a better vehicle.

As far as the complaints I have seen about the people getting a bad vehicle, it's a used car lot. Many times these types of vehicles are bought that have been sitting or at auction. I'm not sure where they are sourced but those are the most common places I've seen with other dealerships that don't rely on used inventory from customers trading in. The cars often have problems when they come in and they fix them mechanically before they sell them, sometimes things slip through, that is the nature of such things. Each vehicle is unique and each case will be different. My vehicle wasn't fixed cosmetically, I knew that going into the deal. I was fine with it.

In my case my big blue van had been sitting for a long time and it had some issues. I wanted it before it was for sale, they fixed what they knew was wrong with it, the engine code came back intermittently and they are more than happy to take it in and fix it and get me squared away properly. There were a few unknowns but I knew what I was getting into. I realized that it might have a few kinks to work out. It's over 20 years old. The important part is Jim has been more than happy to reasonably address the issues. I fix what I can on my own, but knowing he will make it right for me is the most important part for me.

He never tried to hard sell me a vehicle, he allowed me time to research and I came back for weeks before I saw something I wanted. He has been nothing short of honest and helpful from my experience.

To top it all off he helped get me into an insurance policy at a decent price and it is included in the payment I make, making things easy to keep track of.

Know what you are getting into, it may not be the right choice for everyone. But my personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive.”
