Texas Thrift Store provides a well-organized shopping environment with an incredible selection of unique items, including tons of clothes, a huge selection of baby blankets and clothing, and lots of toys. It is noted as a great spot for toys and for baby items. The store is described as clean, and for the most part, everything seems well organized. There is also a unique collection of collectible old dolls.
However, many reviewers report that prices have become way higher recently, with items like shirts, jeans, and shoes often cited as being priced similarly to new items at other retailers. This has led to comments that racks are very packed, possibly because items are not selling. Some home good items are noted as broken or damaged.
Customer service experiences are mixed. Many employees are described as very nice, courteous, and friendly, even during busy times. Yet, there are specific instances reported of rude behavior from certain staff members towards both customers and other employees.
The store adds thousands of new items daily and has weekly specials, like a color of the day discount. Purchases help support charities. While some feel it is still worth a visit, especially for clothing, others express disappointment over the price increases.
