“Holy Cow!!! What a treasure this place is. Comfortable little corners to sit and read. So many books - new and used - that I thought I was in a real library! The people are helpful, friendly and gracious. The prices are fair and books are well organized! The serendipity of the experience is that from the outside it looks like a closed up tire shop then you open the door and it opens up like stepping in an old English book store from chronicles of Narnia! One should not give in Sat Lake for very long without experiencing this wonderfully appointed bookshop. and c"come on" - let's support local efforts. I will never buy from Amazon again without checking here first. It really is the best bookstore in town! Congratulations to whoever dreamed this dream and made it happen!”
“The Central Book Exchange is absolutely fantastic. I was lucky enough to happen upon this store while strolling through the neighborhood my son lives in. My taste in literature is a bit off the beaten track and I can't tell you how many times Ive asked for a specific author only to be met with blank stares. After an incredibly warm greeting by the associate at the register, I asked my question (fully expecting a blank stare) "Good afternoon, do you have any Bukowski?" The associate smiled and nodded. Nodded as in YES, of course we have Charles Bukowski. I almost had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Bought the book and also received a couple good restaurants ideas and was directed to a delightful coffee shoppe nearby. Such great genuine customer service.”

“Well I think the music could play a little louder because I don't like to hear everybody's conversations in there it's like a library it's nice and clean the pictures and scriptures and lots of fun books and food.. I would like to see a whole the whole thing of scriptures with the tap sticking out and journal available with lines. I I I I I did a research in that store. And I didn't I didn't find the combination that I was looking for so I had to buy more books maybe that's what they're I had women commenting on my guests on my stuff I was buying that's pretty normal for a cashier... I didn't look at everything I just think that the music can be a little louder because you have if you have to pass gas or burp or if you have a conversation that you know everybody to hear I will turn up the music just a little bit louder. “We visit Gardner village at least once a month to see their displays and have stopped by the Storybook Nook many times while there. The environment is very open and kid friendly. They have a play section for children that is fun, especially if you need a minute to look for gift ideas. :) My only complaint is that they have a lot of toys and I wish they would carry more books. We love supporting local book sellers and the owner always gives great recommendations about books, there just isn't as big of an inventory as some of their local competitors. This store is also better for kids 8 and younger as they mostly have picture books.”

The attendant kept coming up with various art related books that were so different than other places because of the highly regional slanting of this book store. “I attended Westminster College in 1971. I recently was in Salt Lake with my husband and told him I would like to visit the campus again. It was so much prettier than when I attended here. It all came back to me. There were so few new buildings and dormitories. What stood out to me were seeing the trees being so much larger and the campus looking so pretty. They also had a lot of flower baskets all around, loved those. I also loved seeing Westminster College again, lots of good memories came back to me.”
“This is a good SLCC campus. It's a decent size. It's not overly crowded so it's not too difficult to find a parking spot. I was in the Medical Assistant Program here. I met a lot of friends here. They do need more food options. We would go get food in between classes around lunchtime and all the food places would be closed.”
