Petco
312 US-7, RutlandStaff is great. My problem is with website and setting grooming appointments. We take our dog for nail buffing only and since it’s considered an “add on” the site will not allow us to make an appointment. Yet when we have gone in almost always we are told they are too busy. But if we call they will schedule an appointment for us. Make it so we can schedule nail buffing on line please!

Dog Works
86 River St, RutlandLevi did our very stubborn St. Bernard for nearly three hours. He charged less than he quoted and our girl looks beautiful. She is a an amazingly willful dog. Both my wife and I are so impressed with how she looks. He immediately welcomed her and I could tell how comfortable she was when I picked her up. We will use Dog Works again!

Pet Care

Rutland Veterinary Clinic & Surgical Center
90 E Pittsford Rd, RutlandFantastic. I wish I lived closer so I could go there.
Background.. a few weeks ago, my dog tore her ACL. After spending $1000 to diagnose it at the local vet, they suggested I go to Rutland Vet Clinic instead of the local Surgery center, since it would be ~1/2 the cost.
I love my dog.. but still, she has 3 other good legs, bad hips, and after 3 weeks, barely has a limp.
After a 2 hour drive to go down to Rutland, I expected to be talked into/ guilted into immediate surgery for my dog.
I was pleasantly surprised that the Vets in Rutland took a much more holistic approach... looking at the dog's personality, the cost, her age, and recommended that I need not do anything for a while, and wait and see if it bothers her.
After that pleasant surprise, I got another... the bill was only $85!
Fantastic service, helpful friendly staff, and a nice place!

All Points Animal Care
170 N Main St, RutlandI am a new client of All Points and have found every aspect of this business to be excellent. My senior kitty was recently diagnosed as diabetic and frequent visits to his previous (further away) vet were becoming too stressful so I took a chance on All Points as a closer option, even having seen some negative reviews. Dr Anna and the entire team were most welcoming to their new patient and the initial visit and followups compassionate and efficient. I have utmost faith in their future care of my boy.

Rutland Veterinarian Clinic: Crossman Robin DVM
90 E Pittsford Rd, RutlandExcellent, accommodating and professional service and employees. I recently had an emergency with my 10 month old cat (at 7 pm at night) and I contacted them as they were listed as the only emergency vet open in the area. It was a 35 minute drive from them, and they kindly stayed open late for me and contacted the on-call emergency doctor, who was considerate enough to come in and wait as well. Mind you, this was on a holiday weekend and in the middle of a snowstorm, so driving was risky. Although they were due to close at 8, they were able to see me and thoroughly examine my cat. This was a very scary situation for me and they were very understanding. Liz (the vet tech) and Dr. Rob Macpherson were very generous and compassionate given the situation. They answered all my questions and the visit was not rushed at all. After Dr. Macpherson's findings, advice and the meds he administered, my cat was back to normal upon arriving home. This is truly a Veterinary that cares for and strives to serve their community!

Riverside Veterinary Care and Dental Services
159 River St, RutlandI had never brought my pets here before, but my baby Samson just passed away last week and we got him cremated through this vet. They did an amazing job with my baby boy, and they were so considerate in the way they handled him. He was a 80lb pitbull lab mix, and they treated him so respectfully when transferring him into the building, especially given the fact that my family and I were not in the best emotional state; the staff were so supportive after letting us say our final goodbyes. The package we got a week later was absolutely beautiful; it came with the sturdy metal urn and a clay paw print with his name at the bottom.
I don’t have any input on their veterinary care, but the way they handled my Samson was so admirable and I would highly recommend.
Thank you so much! :) <3

Southside Steakhouse
170 S Main St # 3, RutlandFood quality / price (value) rating 8.5. The atmosphere is contemporary open concept broken up by half walls. They have a good sized bar. I had the Prime Rib, which was served with plain mashed potatoes for a side. No bread or salad, or mixed vegetables, not even a little bit of parsley for color. The wife had the Halibut special, which was very good and presented nicely. They had some interesting desserts, and we split a NY style cheesecake, with a maple-pecan drizzle. I also had a Keoke Coffee that was large and potent. The service was good.

Vermont Tap House
120 S Main St, Rutland* Pizza (4.0) - better than your average pizza by a good shot
* Hamburger (4.0) - overall very good, could use a little more seasoning, brioche bun could have been toasted, and fries could have been a little less soggy but were tasty nonetheless
