“Very friendly service and delicious sandwiches. I love all the cool things they sell too. European chips and cookies, etc. we got the caprese sandwich and the BBQ pulled pork (I had them heat my pulled pork up because I don’t ever want that cold).”

“Even though it's hard to get to from my house due to the layout of Route 1, I make the extra effort to strictly shop at the Department of Beer and Wine. The store is meticulously clean, well organized and carefully curated. The staff are incredibly helpful and offer great recommendations and have outstanding customer service and knowledge of the products they stop. They have growlers you can fill with beers on tap and a wine and beer of the month subscription service that I did for several years, based on the government pay scale system, which was clever for the area. They have great snacks, gifts and non-alcoholic drinks. In fact, my favorite NA tea is based on a recommendation from this store. It's very family and neighborhood friendly and they support a local artisan bread maker and other small businesses. Please support this amazing wine and beer shop!”
“Matk the sommelier turned wine agent at the Alexandria Total Wine & More store gave our group a wonderful lecture, tasting and discussion of California grapes and wines in the store's event classroom.
Participants brought the nibbles and the party's hosts provided the wines. It was a grand evening of learning and social conviviality. I highly recommend having a wine party at the Total Wine &More store of Alexandria.”

But because they're part of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, they receive some truly rare beers that not even the best beer shops can get their hands on! Prices are fair. Staff is very knowledgeable.Recommendation is to open up more of their selection to both The Front Porch and Evening Star Cafe”

“As soon as I walked through the door I was welcomed with a friendly smile and a kind greeting. As I was walking around trying to find the different bottles I wanted one of the employees, Zen, offered to help me. He helped me find everything I needed and made recommendations on better options for what I wanted. He made everything so much easier and saved me so much time. Absolutely fantastic employee! He was so helpful and nice, I can't say enough good things about him. Now I know which store to always go to!”

“I don’t know a lot about wine but wanted to bring something to a party that would make it seem like I did. :)The staff was SO friendly and knowledgeable and walked me through many unique options at all price ranges.I’ve been other places that look down on you if you don’t speak “wine language” My experience at Unwined was completely opposite of that! I got the best recommendations really enjoyed my shopping experience there.I felt confident about the selections I brought to the party and also picked up some fantastic craft beers and some gourmet foods to try.I will definitely be back! This is a great place to run into if you need to grab a gift for someone as well.”
“Lots of unique beverages and samples at the World Market. I love how they thoughtfully create a holiday ambience. I noticed. Sparkling rose tea - all natural & no sugar caught my eye. I bought it immediately. They had samples of coffee & tea at the front of the store. I tasted both and found them pleasant & unique in taste. Their Halloween items of floating candles, accessories, and plates were eye catching yet not tempting enough to purchase at regular prices. Definitely a place worth checking out and trying some samples of coffee & tea.”

“It's a liquor store, whats there to say?Parking is a hassle. I always park in front of the movie theater and run across the street. I prefer to drive to Rose Hill shopping center ABC. Easy in and out. ABC is always well stocked and courteous clerks.”

“I like this grocery store! Prices and savings are excellent! I had a long shopping list that included ingredients for several recipes at my last visit and had a hard time finding everything (not too many floating employees on a Sunday), but I did manage to find everything on my list! I’m finally getting the hang of the app, self checkout and remembering to bring in my bags (not yet a habit since I’ve lived 7+ decades without needing to remember to carry in bags)!”
“I thought the GPS must have been wrong for saying an ABC store was at this location. I was thinking it must be a hardware store named ABC!!! LOL. I ordered online in my car and immediately walked in. I told him I ordered online. He said nobody ordered online. I said I literally just did! He said wow, you're actually the very 1st person to ever order online here! I was baffled. I asked even during covid. I assumed someone I never realized an ABC store was there. He said they've been only open 2 weeks and most people don't realize it's now an ABC store. He said I was THE VERY 1ST PERSON TO ORDER ONLINE AT THIS STORE! I'm a trendsetter! Lol. I guess I need to set up a TIC TACK ACCOUNT LOL. Great service. ?”
“Expensive. Little choice. This is because Virginia has a state monopoly on alcohol. In neighboring states [DC, Maryland] there is more choice and prices are lower (competition). Delaware has no competition, since there is no sales tax”

“I had The Gathering Catering package at work last month. I normally don't care for a pinwheel, but Wegman's pinwheel with Caesar salad was delicious!!I enjoyed the nice lemony dressing with Romain lettuce. the mini croissant sandwiches had very good flavor. I am not big on finger food, but I couldn't get enough of it. I am definitely going to use them for catering from now on.”

Every visit feels like a discovery, but my favorite find so far has been the Poire Granit cider from the Loire Valley in France — crisp, elegant, and unforgettable.
