“JP is the best. Selection and pricing is great, but he, the owner, is the cherry on top. He stocked the bar for my wedding and has been a friend ever since. Downtown Liquors is a neighborhood staple. They understand the dynamics at play and don’t sell singles (individual beer cans which end up littered around).”

“Chat’s is a terrific wine and liquor store. It’s not huge but it really punches above its weight for selection and quality. They regularly do tastings, and Bernie is a wizard at recommending a bottle of wine or spirits.”

“Cliff and his team put together an awesome wine tasting experience with a great charcuterie board. We tasted three types of wine that matched perfectly with some cheese, jamón serrano, and canned sardines. We tried this for San Valentine’s Day, but I believe they’re organizing this for other ocasiones as well. Highly recommended, and thanks for a lovely evening!”

“This might hav been the BEST & Freshest Turkey sub I've ever had.. Sandwich tasted like it was made with "Love".. We need more stores like this that actually care for the Neighborhood & have its residents needs in mind...!!!”

“I have been a patron of this local sandwich establishment for approximately three months, and I must express my satisfaction with the culinary offerings. The sandwiches are notably delectable, featuring fresh and moist bread, flavorful meats that are not dry, and crisp, fresh vegetables. Among my top favorites are the Stadium and the Georgetown, both of which I particularly enjoy with a side of pickles. The menu also offers an array of snacks and beverages to complement the sandwich experience, including an enticing selection of international snacks and drinks that I occasionally indulge in.While the cashier has consistently been pleasant during my interactions, it is evident that she has established a rapport with regular customers, addressing them by name. Notably, the establishment lacks seating arrangements, as all orders are intended for takeout. Situated on a street corner without a designated parking lot, patrons driving to the location must seek street parking alternatives.”

“A. Litteri is a classic -- small but mighty! They have a great assortment of fresh pastas, a tasty selection of Italian cheeses, and lots of fun condiments and such. (They also have what's supposed to be a terrific wine selection, but we haven't sampled that.) We even found fresh apple pie there for Pi Day. Nice, helpful people, too!”

“It is embarrassing to admit my favored contact there knew me by voice when he came to the phone. That was my level of personal service. When I was in doubt, I would get a comment like "I got six cases for myself as the best "everyday" wine I have had."Splendid . . . .”

“JUST INCREDIBLEGreat concept with the way around drinks. You will be given a card which is linked to your Dankort. Then you put this card on at one of the 99 taps (beer, wine, shots, cider, soft drinks). Then you draw according to how many Cl you put in the glass.Their portions of food are large. Pizza super delicious. TRY THEIR MOZZARELLA STICK!”

“I did not get to try the food here. There was an issue with the delivery and the food was destroyed. It did take some back and forth but they did eventually refund me and made everything right. I will give them another chance next time I'm in the District.”

“We stopped in here because we were passing by and I was out of whiskey at home. For a small place, they have a great selection and the staff was really friendly and eager to help. Chuka was a delight to chat with and told us they do some tastings on Thursdays from 5 to 8 so we will definitely be back to check that out!”

“Great wine shop with a fantastic point of view. The service was excellent and on point, without being overbearing. The passion for their set of wines was evident and they clearly enjoyed sharing information on their wines. Highly recommend!”

“I'm so impressed by MacArthur. I highly recommend!I'm not from the area, and I was searching for the perfect place to deliver a bottle of wine to my former colleague. I'm pretty particular about wine. I was searching for a great Brunello di Montalcino, and I was impressed by their selection. The cherry on top is the awesome staff. I worked with Daniel and Phil to send this gift. I felt like I was in great hands. They double checked everything with me and wrapped the gift beautifully (much better than what I could have done myself).Very professional and efficient. I will definitely be a returning customer for future DC wine/spirits deliveries.”

“I can’t say enough good things about this place. Dog-friendly, will order in specialty items, and a great selection of wines, but what makes it truly special is the staff-they are incredibly professional, funny, and patient.”

“Rachel and her team are so friendly and knowledgeable! They helped me put together four custom gift baskets. Rachel had great suggestions on what to include and was super patient as I made my decisions. This is such a wonderful store and i highly recommend them!”

“I love this place for the prices and service. All of the staff will help you with whatever you are looking for and will help with lugging it to your vehicle if need be. The owner, Lax, is also very down to earth and helpful as well. He also throws multiple events for the community, which is top tier.”

“Just an hour ago, I had the pleasure of presenting wines at Verified Wines and Fine Spirits and was genuinely impressed by the experience. The community here, led by Max and his dedicated team, is incredibly welcoming — it's like being part of a family. Sharing the exquisite Salton Wines from Brazil with such enthusiastic customers on a lively Tuesday evening was a delight. The shop's pet-friendly environment adds to the charm, making it feel like a slice of wine country right here in DC. A big thank you for the wonderful experience – I'm already excited for the opportunity to come back and share more wonderful wines. And to whoever is reading this review and feeling my excitement, here are the pictures I took to document the whole experience. I will cherish this day forever!”

“Cheapest Liquor to the surrounding 4 liquor store. 5th of Jack 19.99 plus taxes. THE CHEAPEST IVE FOUND. They have lottery tickets and everything else you need to make a good drink. Picture below cost me $30”

“Wide variety of fine wines and spirits. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They have a lot of expensive stuff so might not be the best if you’re looking for a $10 bottle of wine (for that there’s Streets Market next door). But if you’re looking for something special then Georgetown Wine & Spirits is the right place. As somebody who primarily drinks water, juice, tea, and beer, the folks in Georgetown Wine & Spirits Ware a lifesaver with recommendations. Give them a shot you won’t be disappointed.”

“Walked in just to look and compare prices. Walked out with 3 hard to find bottles in my area. Awesome selection at even greater prices. Saved at least 25% from other stores. Owner/staff very knowledgeable in there products. I will be a returning customer.”

“Now look. Giant Liquor store is the closest liquor store to my house, so sure, you might think that's why I go. But the thing is, there are about a dozen liquor stores in a less-than-ten-minute walk away, so if this was anything less than the best, I could take my business elsewhere easily. The market for liquor in the Park View area is free market competition at its best. This place is a gem. The owners/managers? The friendliest people you'll meet--and they have to deal with a lot. The prices are fantastic. A bunch of times I've gone in there only planning to buy one particular thing, but something is on such a great sale that I can't resist buying it. I bought Johnnie Walker Blue there because it was 30% off. WHO DOES THAT? And around Christmas one year they gave me a bunch of empty boxes for wrapping fake presents to go under my tree. How nice is that? I usually go with a friend and whenever I'd go alone they ask where my friend is. Not many proprietors make the effort to get to know their clientele like that these days. Five stars for being a treasure in the Park View business community. Oh and for cheap liquor, a wide selection, and nice people.”

“One of the best place to get wide range of brands in Tequila , whisky and vodka etc.Just talk to the staff about the price if u are unhappy about the price they are always ready to fix it . Staff is very friendly and if you are confused to select right one or to gift someone, staff provides best suggestions if you ask. You get pretty much everything here at affordable price”

“First time in this liqueur store even live in Mount Pleasant for 11 years. VERY friendly bearded gentleman, forgot to ask him for name, bought MEZCAL, he had four different kinds. Small store, but very well stocked. Will be back for more. Thank you!”

“I love this place and make it a point to stop by and load up every time I'm in the area. They are priced better than the army base. I wish they had shopping carts but the place is too small and would not make sense. they are super helpful and the price makes it worth the trip. Highly recommended.”

“Best liquor store in Downtown/NW DC, hands down. The prices are phenomenal and far lower than their competitors. Most liquor stores in the area are run by seedy old men who massively price gouge the suit-and-tie crowd and bums rather than run an honest business. McReynold's could not be more different than this-- helpful, charming staff, great classical music playlist and very fair prices make this unquestionably the best option in the area. I feel happy to stop by here, whereas many of these sorts of stores are rather depressing to say the least.”

“The staff is really helpful and funny. The prices are decent for the area and they generally have everything you could want from a neighborhood liquor store. Recommend going here over the liquor store up the street just because the prices are better and the staff is really helpful.”

“THIS LIQUOR STORE WAS GREAT! Very amazing service. The workers were very ready to help me find things. But what stunned me about this place is it’s variety of brands. I enjoy mixing from home and I am very specific about which alcohol brands I keep in my liquor cabinet. This place satisfies.”

“The crispy fish tacos filled a void in me I didn't realize was empty until I took that first bite. Will be reliving this moment in my dreams every night until I return.”

“Wow!! Skips is a nice liquor store in the neighborhood that has been there for a very long time at one time there was a crowd of folks that hung around the store all day begging for money but they have cleaned it up and you feel much safer going there now”

4.5 Superb58 Reviews

“It's still five stars here, and they also opened the nearby Sara's Market. Love them both. But now the "food desert" aspects of Georgetown have improved since my previous review. We got our Whole Foods back (although it is mechanized, so the ambience sucks), and Trader Joe's opened, as did Wegman's and Streets. So there is competition, definitely, but this little corner shop still has my heart.”
