“The farm is greatly improved with more grass and fantastic gardens. This month there are many sculptures throughout the gardens. If you love plants, you will love this place.”
“Confinement was a lot of fun and you have to like ciphers and codes. Now that we have done all rooms you need some new ones maybe one that rotates a few times a year?”
“We recently hosted our wedding at The Garden Alexandria with 60 guests, and it was absolutely perfect! The space itself is beautiful with a gorgeous, rustic, barn-like look, and we had more than enough room to spare. From the very start, the team was incredibly responsive and accommodating. James and Sarah made the entire process seamless from the beginning of planning to the very end of our event. On the day of, my guests and I didn't have to lift a single thing. The staff completely took care of everything, including flipping the room from our ceremony setup to the dining setting with just an hour to spare! They are truly amazing, and I highly recommend this venue to anyone thinking of hosting an event!”
“Exceptional church service and everyone is super friendly. Such a calm and welcoming atmosphere. 8a.m. service was super great! Pastor Jeff was so nice and welcoming.”
“We enjoyed our visit to the Lee-Fendall House last weekend. We had a great tour guide, Beth, who showed us around the house and made our visit very interesting and educational.”

“Our family loves KidCreate! My 10-year-old has been coming for years, and our 6-year-old is also a big fan of the very creative, multimedia art projects offered by this location. Any projects using clay are particularly big hits. The studio is organized, calm, and clean, and class sizes are small enough to give each child attention and ensure the group doesn't get out of control. Note that the cancellation policy is strict - no day-of changes - but the programming is worth the small risk of a day-of illness or conflict. Highly recommend! And can we get even more Parents' Night Out please? :)”

“For quick night away this hotel checked all the boxes. Close to great restaurants, all within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was an event on site but it didn’t impact our stay in fact it added energy to the evening. The Study Bar was a great place to end the evening with craft made cocktails.”
“Update After Checkout:
Though I stand by my various areas for improvement, I’m updating my review from 2-stars to 4 for a few reasons:
1) our stay improved after that first day, including having the internet working flawlessly the last two days of our stay.
2) our room, and the hotel overall, were actually very nice (though the lack of attention to the various details I highlight below still were surprising for a property of this quality).
3) the front desk manager Adam went out of his way to make up for the various issues we were having and ensured our stay improved after those first 36 hours. His responsiveness to our concerns made a big difference.
Original review: This supposed 4-star property isn’t yet ready for prime time. I’m staying here now and we’ve had a terrible experience, despite staying in one of the nicest rooms available (a one bedroom suite on the top floor).
Where to begin…perhaps with the internet that has maybe worked 2 hours out of our 36 here so far. Or how about the bait-and-switch “Autumn special” that included breakfast when we booked, but failed to mention that the restaurant isn’t yet open for breakfast so what’s included is coffee and a croissant at the coffee shop off the lobby. Add that to the terrible tv interface in the rooms that claims to allow casting from your favorite streaming service but doesn’t work, no towels or cups for water in the gym, no place to get ice or fill water bottles on the floor, only one towel hook in our enormous bathroom, meaning one of us has to leave our wet towel draped over a chair in the room, etc., and you get a hotel that looks nice, but fails at so many important details that makes a good hotel stay. Oh, and the hotel is far away from the sites and action in Alexandria. Won’t be staying here again and will be asking for a refund for our special “breakfast” package so we can use that money on a real breakfast elsewhere.”

“Tucked off of King Street with a nice quiet courtyard you find this modern boutique hotel. Interior is all new, clean and very well maintained. Staff were exceptionally welcoming, helpful, and happily accommodated my requests. Great breakfast restaurant off the lobby. Room was large and well furnished. Overall great hotel !!!!”

“I love Westin properties because they have such comfortable beds. This hotel is very nicely appointed. They have a great breakfast in the cafe (although no buffet). My room was very clean. The reason for the 4 stars is that the hallway and my room smelled of mildew. They sprayed a ton of deodorizer to mask the odor.”
“I normally take my kids to toddler jump when I can. Last few times it’s been on a holiday and even though it’s busy there’s still plenty of room for my kids to play safely
Also, Brianna is often there and I always see her doing it all by herself. I see her man the front desk, run to help someone in the back and then sprint to the front again. She always has a great attitude when I arrive which you don’t always see at a kid’s park.”

“4 blocks from the water and 10 minutes from DCA. The front desk immediately knew my room phone was broken because I called from my cell phone. They brought me ice as the 5th floor ice machine was broken. Extra friendly and helpful. Marriott should use the amazing attitude of the staff from front desk to the restaurant. Kudos. AND the perfect balcony view from room 543 during sunset. Thanks.”

“Having stayed here several times in the past, I'm comfortable in saying that the rooms are clean and the bed comfortable.
The small kitchen area is perfect for what you need if you're going to be staying over a week.
The parking lot is a bit small and when they had contractors on site they filled the parking lot.
But the parking lot is well lit, there was no broken glass or trash.
Our only issue with this specific location was with some of their policies and customer service.
But management went out of their way to contact us, listened, understood our complaints and took action.
We had to accept and understand the reasons for certain policies, but once explained in an open dialog it was obvious this management team understood our concerns and fully addressed them.
We seldom see such rapid management action. Highly impressed.
The location is good, Plenty of local restaurants and places to pick up a few things.
I would recommend this location.”
“My company did a team event at AR Workshop in Alexandria. We had such a great time and Stephanie was such a great host! They have such a nice variety of items to choose from. I highly recommend for a class or team event!”
