“Such an interesting place. 200 years of history in one location. I believe this is the oldest continuously operated grocery store. Sam or Sambo as my best friend who was raised here calls him, has 60 years of local knowledge and store entrepreneurship under his keen eyes. As a Oklahoma resident a constant thing to hear is “I know someone from Oklahoma.” This is true no matter I ride to. It was true with Sam as well. The selection is small here but not the history. Get a Coke and Candy bar and chat Sam up. You won’t be disappointed. The lazy Pug greeter will be your first stop.”
“Beautiful state park . I really enjoyed my hike here . I loved the steps down to the water fall but I semi died going back up, haha. I can't wait to get back out and try some of the other hikes . It's only a 1.5 hour ride from Charlotte . I'm hoping for a nice winter to get back out and do some more nature activities!”
“Love the hotdogs & hamburgers (has grill w/ choices). Offers a gambling/entertainment room & of course all the other usuals you'd find at a gas station/convenient store.”
“I simply cannot put into words how much I love this store. They have it all - fresh produce, canned and dry goods, candy, coffee, antiques, candles, furniture - you name it. The staff is friendly and the store is very inviting. As a fan of old fashioned general stores, Hillmont Mercantile is in my top 3 for sure.”
“It's a staple here in our community. It's always stocked, carts are always brought in, and front line cashiers always courtious! Only suggestion is to have a few more newer carts to ride for disabled and elderly, and station them inside instead of breezeway, its kinda crunched in there.”

“This is a pretty good DG. It is a newer store that is standalone so it is about as big as they get. It's clean, spacious and relatively well kept. There is a fair bit of clutter but it is manageable. This is also the darkest Dollar General I've been into. So strangely dim inside. Otherwise, service is good and the place is in a nice location on Rte. 221 adjacent to Rte. 100.”

This has been a great experience for me Dr. Pettit and his staff all are wonderful all have taken care of me, as I'm the only customer. My bridge has received lots of compliments everybody says the teeth look real and they do by the way after surgery my gums heal in about a week or so pain was minimal so was bleeding you do what they tell you and you'll be ? again thanks for such a wonderful experience and babying me ❤️ you guys see you some time”

“Other than not having any kind of suitable tray for packaging to put more than one donut in. The store was clean, well lit, and people all around that were working at the store. Only one office type staff saw me struggling w donuts and offered to help to try and find a package to put Donuts in.”
“This store has always been clean and customer friendly as you can find what your looking for exactly where you think it should be. Great service as well, with a smile and a "HAVE A GOOD DAY" as you're going out the door.”

“When I come into the store all the staff makes me feel welcome with a hi how are you today and even when I check out they are very nice because they talk with me while I'm getting check out especially Alicia she's very nice and polite and so is all the staff also that's why I like coming to the store because I feel welcome there”
