“Exceptional Service & Epic Experience for a Large Group

An organization I belong to hosted our annual convention at The Bristol Hotel over four days. We held sessions in the King Room, a party at Lumac Rooftop Bar, and meals at Vivian’s Kitchen. The attentive service provided by Chance (hotel manager), Landry (A/V and events), and Ruth (server) was exceptional, catering to our special requests and helping events run smoothly for the nearly 150 attendees. They kept the rooftop bar open late into the evenings on nights they are normally closed, ensured hotel rooms were refreshed while the group was in session, and provided golf cart rides when nearby parking was unavailable due to a city festival. From the accommodations to the meals, attendees raved about the hotel experience!

Personally, I appreciated all the small details – a ceiling fan over the bed, the bartender (Braeden) remembering my order, truffle deviled eggs on the brunch menu, bottled water and k-cups refreshed daily, a spacious sitting area in The Americana Suite, and beautiful décor that strikes the right mix of historic and modern.

We work with a different hotel in a different city each year and The Bristol Hotel will now be the gold standard for hospitality, comfort, and a unique local experience against which all others will be measured.”

“The lobby smelled of cigarettes, but other than that, no complaints. Just the basics, but a clean, comfortable room. What more could you ask for at this price?”

“Overall for the money Hilton charges. The rooms are ok. The beds definitely need a major upgrade. For guests that do not pay for all the amenities, in which of course that's what you're paying for. Conference rooms, bar, restaurant, pool, gym.. these prices for a bed that is hard as a floor. Well read the reviews from many guests and do something. Multiple days in a 4 and 5 star hotel guests expect more than just service.

Rooms: The BED. The floor might have more give than the bed. The pillows became my mattress. It is a good thing I travel with my own pillows. Sleep was still hard to come by.
Slightly updated, but ok. Color scheme is mid 2010's. Thats fine. Room was spacious.
Bathroom, as with so many hotels, needs deeper cleaning. Shows mold growth. Rusty sconces that support the lights. Corners that don't receive the attention from staff, because they're not given the time to do a proper cleaning.

Nearby activities: Drive or uber

Safety: Didn't have issues

Walkability: Vehicle required, or bike if you like the Mountains.

Food and drinks: Didn't utilize hotel restaurant. Breakfast was listed at $11.95 as we were going out. No thanks.

Noteworthy details: Sitting high and slightly tucked in. Easy to find. Relatively close to shopping. Has conference rooms, large welcoming entrance. Spacious rooms, Friendly staff.”

“The manager was friendly and phoned our room to make sure that everything was satisfactory. Our room was clean and the location is quiet. Black out curtains, mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, digital AC unit, full length wall mirror, blow dryer in our room. No problems with Wi-Fi or TV. Would book again if in this area.”

“The only place I’ll stay-sure, from the exterior it may not be the ritz Carlton, but who wants that? It’s homey, clean, and the staff ‘truly’ care—like they go above and beyond to make sure that you’re taken care of. Genuinely the nicest people. Especially for the price, the rooms are fantastic; clean, no iffy stains (and I can’t even say that about some of the far more expensive hotels I’ve stayed at). I try to stay here as much as possible, and that won’t change-they’re like a family, and treat you as such.

Also, it is SAFE! I’ve got a high standard for what constitutes my feeling safe, and they don’t mess around. They keep the riff raff out and make sure that the riff raff stays out. I’ve gone outside numerous times to smoke at 2-3am, and never once have I encountered anything even remotely suspicious.

Twice, my truck battery has died, and the lovely ladies inside gave me a jump. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel or the people, who run it.”

“So.. the drive to the race track is all back roads, but GPS got us there just fine. The hotel itself was very nice but ridiculously expensive because of the race weekend. $935.00 for 2 nights and no free breakfast.. and a wake-up call that we asked for and never got.... was not happy about that. IHop is right down the road, so we opted for that. There is also a bowling alley right across the street. Checking in and out was easy, and that was nice.

Nearby activities: Ihop, bowling”

“I recently stayed at Delta Hotels Bristol and had a mixed experience.

The Good:
Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff was friendly. The lobby was clean, spacious, and upscale, giving a great first impression. The walk to our room (#207) was easy, and the hallways smelled fresh. Our room was spotless, with comfortable bedding, well-kept furniture, and a mattress that gave a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was nearly spotless, with plenty of hot water and no mildew in the shower. I appreciated the two complimentary bottles of water and the strong WiFi connection.

The Not-So-Good:
There’s no complimentary breakfast unless you have status for the 10th floor. There was no microwave in the room — I had to request one, which took 30–45 minutes to arrive, and I had to rearrange furniture to make it fit. The toilet was uncomfortably low with a weak flush, making it impractical for elderly guests. I've never seen a toilet so low to the floor! The water pressure in the shower was terrible. It took twice as long to rinse shampoo out of your hair. I requested extra Towels and housekeeping services on my reservation and we didn't receive either. Therefore towels were limited for two adults. The AC barely cooled the room, and the thermostat on the wall wasn't functional. It must've been for looks only. The TV lacked an updated guide that didn't update the two nights we were there and when we arrived, it displayed the wrong guest name — not exactly a warm welcome. Outlets were scarce. The ice machine was dusty, and many windows throughout the hotel were dirty. Our view from #207 was nothing more than a rooftop — disappointing for such a scenic area. Lastly, the on-site restaurant/bar had overpriced beer and food, so we opted to eat elsewhere.

Bottom Line:
Delta Hotels Bristol has the potential to be a top-tier stay — the cleanliness, comfort, and lobby aesthetic are excellent. However, several room features and guest conveniences need improvement to match the upscale image.”

“I just left the Americourt in Kingsport. That is a disgusting roach infested place. This place is like living in a palace compared to that place. The rooms are okay, not brand new but not terrible. The front desk people are awesome. Everything works fine I see zero evidence of bedbugs or roaches.”
