Was the only customer at the time (close to closing time) but the employee was super attentive and welcoming. He sold me on a couple sealed pokemon boxes , whose prices actually beat a couple of the cards stores in the same mall.

Nowadays, in many places, we are helped by salespeople with AirPods in their ears who are so focused on their smartphones that they barely notice we are there. Visiting Red Wing in Fairfax feels like stepping back into the good old days, when customer service was truly valued. It is not just about the standard of service or about being kind, polite, and friendly, but also about having real knowledge of the products being sold. At a time when many salespeople have little to no understanding of the products they sell, getting a thorough answer to every question you ask is something truly exceptional.

“We had such a great experience here today. Dave Jr. sized my husband up in minutes and pulled clothes that fit great, no alterations needed. He was patient, quick and helped by guiding us toward some looks we usually wouldn’t have considered, but loved when they were together. He was always close by but never hovering or pushy. For the quality, the price point is excellent so we gladly grabbed an extra pair of jeans and a couple belts. If you want great attention to detail, good quality and someone who really knows what they are doing and take pride in it, I suggest you make an appointment! Oh, and they also gave a couple of sleepy parents some excellent espresso and coffee drinks and let us set our 5 year old up in the kitchen to eat a snack. We will, without a doubt, be returning.”

“Nordstrom rack is by far the most expensive out of all of the discount stores. But, if you go often enough you will find deals that smoke t.j Maxx, Burlington and Ross. Why they do have upscale clothes that usually carry upscale prices pay special attention to the clearance racks. That's actually the only place I shop in any of these stores. Imagine spending half the price of similar clothing items from Walmart or Costco but four times the quality.
June 7th update: I needed a summer suit and looking online was discouraging so I asked Chad GPT who sells a decent summer suit at a good price it mentioned j.Crew HNG I think it's called Macy's and Nordstrom. So I went to a j.Crew factory outlet and was blown away not by the quality or the selection by the insane prices that were literally breathtaking. $400 for a jacket at a outlet store is absolute insanity. So of course I did what I should have done in the first place and went to my local Nordstrom rack on Bear lakes parkway in Fairfax where not only did I get a fantastic lightweight tan suit but also a medium tan leather belt and a sporty pair of tan Cole haan sneaker/ sporty shoes. Now you're probably asking you probably spent a lot of money didn't you. That's where you would be wrong The Sue jacket was $120 the suit pants were $40 the leather belt was $20 and the Cole haan shoes were $109. To get a full-on legit sporty looking slim suit that looks amazing on me for under $400 is nuts! The kicker is the sleeves need to be adjusted ever so slightly. And because Nordstrom rack is literally the beast of all stores that is included for the low low price of $0. My tailor would have charged $90 and that's a lady actually she's a great lady next to the Goodwill on main Street and Fairfax but that's beside the point. And as a bonus while walking out my girlfriend's kid needed a pair of summer tennis shoes. Where else are you going to find sparkly vans tennis shoes for 11 freaking dollars!!! If I haven't said I loved Nordstrom rack enough let me say it yet again. I love Nordstrom rack. They did have a legit Armani sweater and an equally cool rag and bone sweater each for $100 which I was very tempted to snag on deep discount but I spend enough for today maybe they'll still be on that clearance rack in another couple of weeks”

“Traveling for work, and needed to replace my boots. Went in on a Friday afternoon right before closing and was greeted by the most professional Red Wing salesman, Raúl. He made sure the boot I was getting was the PERFECT fit.
Red wings sell themselves. But what really stood out was Raúl's professionalism as well as attitude. I thought he was owner operator of the store with how much he was happy to help me find my new boots. He told me he was not but one day soon.
When these boots eventually need to be retired and I need a new pair, I'll be calling Raúl from my homestead up in Maine to ask for a new pair.

“Not sure what all the comments are talking about. I went in over black Friday weekend, where it was super busy. You'd imagine employees would be stressed out, careless, and perhaps even rude, but that was simply not the case. While looking for new shoes, I was helped by a young woman named Mashia, who took the time to help me locate the perfect fit for me. I was also offered service by a young man named Jordan. When I went to the checkout, everyone was smiling and talking to eachother. The young lady who helped me, Ariana, was very nice and quick. Other names I remember talking to was Ethan and Jimmy. “Jjill saved my life. I had a life event where I lost memory for a time. I came home to a house I didn't remember, a dog who knew he was my dog, but who I didn't remember. My husband had to travel and often I was confused about who's clothes were who's in our closet. I found myself wearing his shirts, they felt comfortable, familiar, and safe. I was in the mall one day and passed a Jjill. I didn't remember any of the stores in the mall, but I went in to look around. When I tried pants on, it felt like magic! I have a boys cut on the bottom, no hips, barely a bottom! I could never find pants that fit me right. For the first time in my life, I felt like myself! I felt comfortable in my own skin. I ended up buying a new wardrobe. The clothes were stylish, age appropriate, but hip and young looking. I couldn't remember myself before I Iost my memory, but I felt like this was who I am. I felt good when I went out, I didn't look frumpy! I had avoided doing things because I didn't have anything to wear. All of sudden, I was EXCITED to get dressed. I felt PRETTY. My young daughter had never seen me wear women's clothes per say. Not that she could remember. She has said now, as a grownup, how wonderful it was for her. To realize we liked similar things and she was always proud to be seen with me. She thought all the other mothers looked older and I looked young because of how I dressed. What mattered to me, was that I could express myself thru the clothes and was confident in how I traveled thru the world. I am so truly grateful. And it's never changed. I am now 67 years old. This summer's clothes were, in my opinion, the best and most beautiful Jjill has ever done. The colors were amazing! I am proud to wear them. They save my life in a figurative way literally every single day! I will be forever grateful!”
