“Several months ago, my husband received the usual excellent service he has come to expect from the LL Bean Charlottesville, Va., location. Mack was looking for a new pair of jeans. Because it was very late in the season, not much was available to try on. However, PRINCEY worked with him for two hours, bringing out what she did have and then, when none of those were the perfect size in the style he loved, she got on the phone and began calling other stores. After many calls and much time on the phone, Princey found the ONE pair of the jeans in his size that Mack loved at one of the other LL Bean locations - the one pair left in the US! She arranged for Mack to connect with Michelle at that store, pay for the jeans and arrange to have them shipped to our home. Very quickly, the jeans arrived. They fit PERFECTLY and they are the ones he loves and is happily wearing today. Princey pulled off a miracle! She is very special but also typical of the fabulous service Mack has always received at the Charlottesville LL Bean. We are very, very thankful for Princey's steadfast assistance and will always return to the Charlottesville LL Bean when we are looking for excellent quality clothing and the BEST SERVICE anywhere!! “While Athleta is still on the pricey side, they do run periodic clearance sales or final sales that make their apparel affordable. I went in today just to look around and was pleasantly surprised to see an extra 30% off clearance sign. A jacket that was originally listed for $178, I ended up getting for $55. It's also nice to see a line that has something for all body types and sizes. They have a girls' line too.”

“Kayla, in the Cville, Va. store went above and beyond normal employee’s standards. I asked about a dress on a mannequin display and she searched all over the store to make sure that it was indeed the last one. Because the mannequin was located up high, I didn’t expect that anyone would be available to take the dress off the display right away. Kayla took the time to make it happen for me- I bought the dress- and was very impressed with her customer service.She’s def a star employee.”

“This is a cute boutique and I wish we had more shops like it on the Corner. They primarily carry women's clothing but also have fun trinkets and decor in stock. A lot of their items are UVa/Charlottesville themed -- make great gifts for friends! Some of their items can be a bit pricey, but they do have great sales and a wide selection -- I have come in for formal dresses and for oversized tees. I have found the staff very friendly in my experiences here! When I ask questions they are quick to help, and they always say something nice when you leave the dressing rooms in a new outfit. There are finches in the store like other reviews have said, but I think to say that that is unethical is a misconception. The birds have a cage large enough for them to move and fly about in, it is stocked with toys and food. I have seen staff (maybe the owner) interact with the birds while I am shopping, so they are given attention. I have seen no signs of aggression in my many, MANY moments watching the birds while friends browse the store, meaning they are likely well socialized. Overall I think this is a cute place to stop, especially for students already near the Corner.”

“I cannot even begin to describe what an amazing experience I had at this location. Customer service was EXEMPLARY. I walked into the store with the idea that there would be nothing for me in my size to try on. As my partner was trying on clothes I started asking someone I think her name was Britney! (sp?) about their jean sizing. She was so warm and kind. I was so uncomfortable and nervous--as I have not tried to buy jeans in years as I am so hard to fit in jeans being plus sized and having a smaller waist and bigger butt and thighs. She was so patient and knowledgeable and figured out some options in store I could try on! After a couple different pairs we found some that were perfect! And so comfortable. She helped me SO MUCH even just going over what I can look for moving forward with sizing and ordering online! I was there with my partner and his mom and we all left in jeans because of her and the awesome team! They made me feel so special and had no idea what that meant to me as someone who has ALWAYS dreaded trying on clothes ESPECIALLY jeans and bathing suits LOL. My partners mom was nervous to try on more modern jeans and with Britney and my encouragement found such a stylish pair in her correct size (she thought her size was larger and Britney helped find the perfect fit!). While Britney was helping us my partner was being helped by their INCREDIBLE style consultant. They were so helpful and my partner found a perfect pair of jeans with their help. There was another employee who was super sweet and helpful I just can't remember her name. PLEASE GIVE THESE PEOPLE A RAISE OR BONUS OR NEW CAR OR FREE VACATION THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ON A BUSY SATURDAY!!!! I have not gotten customer service like that in YEARSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, Finley and company :)”

Very nice personnel and lovely cloths.Yet, Banana Republic is very expensive except for the few days when everything is -40% (on those days I have had harder time getting help). Without this pricing craziness, 5 starts.. The sale makes all previous purchases feel bad. Hence, I might not shop here again due to that. However, I am very happy with my suits and for an urgent need I can recommend.”

“Nice selection clouded by too tight of a size run for women.4 stars for a lovely and intentional curation of upscale fashion for men and women in Cville - this store fills a gap in the market. Understanding that it is an upscale boutique, the prices are on par for that, and the items carried are high quality. That said, it's incredibly frustrating - as a 5'9" average/athletic build person who generally wears a size M and 29 in jeans (30 if they are lower stretch to accommodate my quads) - that I cannot buy jeans here. I have bought dresses and tops/sweaters but have honestly stopped going in because the size runs keep shrinking for not only jeans but dresses too, and I leave feeling not awesome about myself.I have worked in and managed two upscale women's boutiques in Charlottesville, so I understand their buying process of limited size runs based on your customer base, but it's wild that most styles here don't go above a size 28, unless they run small, and then the 29 is useless anyway. I'm consistently a 29 in Mother, Citizens, AG, Paige, R13, and other similar brands, and a traditionally straight-sized figure, so it's just frustrating.That said, if you are petite, and naturally thin-framed, you'll find nice quality pieces that will last a while, but I don't know that I will be stopping in anymore. :(”
