While some of the donations that they receive are used for the basic needs of the men involved in the discipleship programs, many of the items donated are placed in the thrift store and sold to the community. The proceeds from these sales are used to subsidize the various costs of the ministry such as taxes, maintenance, fuel, insurance, utilities, and mortgage payments for buildings. The Good Samaritan Thrift Store also serves an important function in the rehabilitation process of the men on the program through job training. They learn the value of a good work ethic and obtain skills that will relate to their future employment opportunities.”

“It had been a couple years since I had been to this Goodwill and I'm happy that I stopped by today. I didn't find much but enjoyed looking as always. The outlet is in a warehouse type building; it's definitely not a glamorous shopping experience but the prices are unbeatable and I like the idea of "saving" the items that didn't sell at the thrift stores.I purchased: a pillowcase and two apron skirts for 65 cents totalThe outlet was much more organized today than it had ever been before. Plenty of space so you can distance yourself from other people. Feels like there's more room to breathe in there now than there used to be.”

“My first time in this Goodwill, and was pleasantly surprised at the selection. I go for the home goods and saw several items I liked but I already have enough vases and knic-knacs that I didn't buy anything this time. The items I did like ran in the $3.99 and $4.99 range which is reasonable although the days of lower prices seem to be over with at Goodwill unless you catch something on a half off day. There wasn't a very large selection of home items as I've seen at other Goodwills, but I did see a lot of cloths. Still I would return since there were the several items to tempt me. The store , for a mid-day Wednesday was very crowded. Worth a trip and just off Midlothian Turnpike.”

“Best surprise and service ever in a Goodwill store! The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere from start to finish made me feel welcomed. I honestly shared with Ms.Dana the manager that this was an Ana ing experience. The best part is the store smelled fresh and clean. I felt at home and at peace while shopping … it was early but I have no doubt the standard of comfort and of peace have been established by Ms. Dana and her staff. “Well-organized with lots of merchandise, but overpriced. A couple items caught my eye today but the price was too high for me. Dresses for $25, men's shirts $10-$20. Target brand dress priced at $10 when you can almost get them on sale new at that price. It made me sad. Prices were significantly higher than when I had last been here about a year ago. I used to love coming to this thrift but I probably won't go back.”
