About Patient First Primary & Urgent Care - Gainesville
Patient First Medical Centers have been providing urgent care, primary care, and occupational health services on a walk-in basis since 1981. Open 365 days a year from 8 am to 8 pm, they also offer telehealth services. The practice treats routine injuries and illnesses, offers women's services, vaccinations, physicals, and workers' compensation care.
Patients report positive experiences at Patient First. The staff is described as patient, friendly, and professional, with good bedside manners. One visitor was quickly treated for asthma, grateful to the kind doctor and nurses. Another was very satisfied with the triage, X-ray, and treatment process, noting the receptionist was also helpful and friendly.
However, one patient had an issue with their insurance coverage. They were told Patient First was an urgent care facility that could submit claims to their insurer as such, but the insurer did not cover it that way. The billing department explained Patient First can only submit as a regular office visit, not urgent care. The patient felt deceived, though the practice later reimbursed them.
Overall, Patient First seems to provide efficient, high-quality care in a pleasant environment, though there was one instance of miscommunication around insurance coverage.
