“My husband I hosted our post wedding celebration here on 4/18/15. Zack (who showed me the property and set up the reservation) and Cindy (who was on-site manager the day of the event) were very easy to work with. Since, the property is managed by Fairfax County; I never got the feeling that I was being upsold. The space itself has both pros and cons. The cons of the space is that is split into several small to medium sized rooms making it difficult to host a typical style reception (our guests stayed and gravitated outside so we hardly needed the indoor space). You have to bring down the chairs and tables from the top of the stairs (the tables and chairs are included in your rental costs). The Dranesville Tavern only has a cold kitchen (so, if you'd like an event where the cater(ers) are cooking something fresh at your party site this is not the location for you). You must have a license catering (no on-site cooking from the hosts is permitted). You have to pay (and give yourself additional time) to obtain an ABC license from the state of VA. The pros are the outdoor space includes 2 large covered decks on either side of the property. Our party was able to set out the chairs and tables on the deck and our guests brought their food from the buffet (set up in one of the rooms inside). If you're looking for a place with charm the Dranesville Tavern is a nice mixture. It is historic without being small (believe it can hold up to 80 people). It also has a nice rustic feel to it. The exterior of the buliding looked nice in our pictures. The Dranesville Tavern gives you an rain plan. Although we only used the indoor space for a place to store gifts, drinks and the buffet; it was nice to know had it rained that we could still host our guests comfortably. The lawns at the Dranesville Tavern are large and surround the property and although this property is located off a busy road it feels very private. Our party had several lawn games for people to enjoy (making the lawns even more pleasant place to spend an afternoon). There is ample parking (at no additional cost) located next to the property. In a nutshell for the cost and space, if you're looking for a place that feels special without the upcharge; I would suggest looking at the Dranesville Tavern.”

“Absolutely GORGEOUS hotel and views all around! Great customer service and hospitality. Staff is very helpful and accommodating especially for guests who are there for recouping after surgery.

Stayed here the first four days after having spinal cord at Reston Hospital & Surgical Center and returned less than two months later for a successful implantation of spinal cord stimulator due to first implantation from 2010 lifespan ended spring/summer 2025.

Staff remembered us from our stay at end of January then returned first week of April for second surgery.

“Excellent customer service. Nice rooms. Some ppl smoke so if you don’t, request rooms away from smokers. I suggest asking to see the rooms first. My son has asthma one room did smell Smokey but we were given a different room. Thank you all”

“Overall, my stay at this hotel was pretty good. 11th floor has a good view if your room is at the front, not so good at the back. Breakfast buffet was pretty expensive, $25/person, and the selection was very limited at that price....Water pressure at the bathroom sink was terrible, I had to brush my teeth and wash my hands and face using the sink at the bar where the coffee machine is near the entrance door. The coffee supplies could have been much better, only 2x little mini creamers.... Needed more just for one cup. Front desk was very nice and courteous, they got me what I needed realtively fast when I needed something. The water pressure was another issue that I will have to call about since I didn't feel like packing up all my stuff and switching rooms. Anyway, 3 to 4 stars.”

“I travel for work and stay at many hotels across the country. Counting last year and this year I have close to 200 days at this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, room service was always on time and did a great job. For the price, if you’re looking for an extended stay hotel I would absolutely recommend this location. If you’re working at Reston hospital (like I was), the location is perfect and there are a ton of restaurants in a close distance and a shopping center filled with cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel or its staff. 5/5”

“Stayed at this location for a formal event. Event, food, and service was great. Initial room had an odor but front desk moved us immediately to another room without question.”

“Everything went very well. I called when I got my luggage and the shuttle appeared in less than 10 minutes. The check in was easy and friendly. Room was clean and quiet. Lots of plugs. Bed comfortable. Bathroom huge and very clean. Gym is excellent. I travel frequently in and out of Dulles and have tried almost all of the airport hotels. I usually pick based on price but from now on I will come here.”

“Nice convient area located near the airport. You can take a nice walk around the area. Rooms were clean. Beds comfortable. Only thing we didn't like was the AC unit is right next to the bed. So either it's too hot if you turn it down or too cold if you turn it up. Plus the noise of it right next to the bed makes it hard to get a good night's sleep. The glass shower door is made to only be halfway which causes the water to get all over the bathroom floor. Room has a refrigerator but no microwave. 1st floor has no available ice machine. You either go up to the 2nd floor to get ice or ask the front desk. The gym was nice. Small but convenient. Didn't use the pool but it looked like a nice pool. They do have a laundry room located on the 6th floor. Was a bit inconvenient because only 1 elevator was working and it was always jam packed with people. They charge $3.50 for the washer and $3.50 for the dryer. No quarters. Uses an app or a card. Breakfast was descent. With a variety of items to choose from. The part we hated the most was they charge $15/night for parking. Thats ridiculous. I would understand charging that if you wanted to use the garage but not for regular parking.”

“This is our favorite hotel when we visit the area. Manal, the GM, is absolutely amazing, and that is reflected in the staff and the way you are treated. The breakfast goes later than most hotels, which is a huge benefit.”
