“I love Ace Hardware AdMo in DC and Payne Ave in St. Paul, Minn. In fact I have yet to experience an Ace Hardware I didn’t love. They are knowledgeable, helpful and happy employees making every trip to Ace a happy, fast, fun experience while doing an errand. Who says that about big box stores?”

“I’ve purchased a ton of paint from this Benjamin Moore and It’s always been a great experience. Their customer service is top-notch and a huge shout out to John in particular! The street was recently blocked off and I had purchased over 20 gallons of paint to pick up. I was able to find parking a few blocks away and John loaded them up in a cart and brought them directly to my car and helped me load them up. Now that is Outstanding customer service and it truly made my day.”

I always check here first for general hardware supplies. While a small store, they surprise me with the abundant and varied supplies they do have on hand. Their friendly, knowledgable staff are always ready to help.
Today, I suddenly needed spray foam and spare keys. They had both.
Last week I needed window and door insulation, they had it.
Wood stain for furniture? Yep, they got it.
Car ice scraper? Yep, they have it.
I needed a special fuse for my electrical system. They didn’t have it. Nor did I expect them to have it. Yet looked just in case they might have it.
What a great addition to the neighborhood!”
“I recently revisited after moving away a couple of years ago and had forgotten how much I love the Glover Park Ace. From the outside and when you first walk in, it looks like it's going to be small with limited products, but it's surprisingly large considering its location on Wisconsin. They've used every inch of the space to stock a wide selection of products while keeping it well organized and tidy. I do a lot of home maintenance and home improvement projects and the staff here are awesome - super friendly and always nearby and ready to help.”
“The couple times I’ve visited, the staff at Bill’s Ace Hardware has been very knowledgeable and helpful. When the store didn’t have a specific item we were looking for in stock, Sam was very helpful and called a few other stores to check if they had it in stock, and asked them to confirm the item was on the shelf (rather than just in the system). It was much appreciated since it saved us the drive for the store that didn’t have it, and we knew which of the two to go to.”

It's impossible to just run in for one thing and not be gobsmacked by the inventory and array of options that Strosniderr's provides. The Bethesda store in particular is incredible, it's like Home Depot, Bed bath & beyond (RIP), and your favorite outdoor gardening store all rolled into one. If I could give it six stars I would. 😊”
“I received excellent service and insight during my visit on 3/21/26. I needed a new cartridge for my Moen shower. The staff (names I have forgotten) helped me get the cartridge puller and correct cartridge (I thought I got the wrong one but it turns out I didn't put it together correctly at first). I will be returning to the store regularly.”

A kind young man named George helped me right away to find an air filter. They were located a way up high so he reached up there to bring 2 down very carefully. “Long story short here . I needed to retrieve a key from a defunct lockbox for one of my listings . Make no mistake those things are built not to be broken open . It took two guys 30 Mins to pry it open for me using bars and wrenches . And they did it all with a great attitude. This place and team are the absolute best .”
“Thos. Somerville Co. is an excellent distributor of plumbing, heating and AC supplies in DMV. It took me endless efforts to find o-rings for my leaky vacuum breaker at hardware stores. None of them worked. Finally I used Google to search plumbing suppliers. Staff of Thos. Somerville let me buy Watts vac breaker instead of o-rings, and made sure I knew how to install it. It took me 5 minutes and 25 dollars to resolve my longtime headache. The company with superb expertise and friendly service is highly appreciated and strongly recommended.

“I was at a friend’s wedding, there to officiate, when disaster struck. The arch they were going to be married under needed to be assembled but no one could find the screws that came with it. An hour before the ceremony. I ran to the nearest hardware store in my suit to find a box of screws. After some frantic looking around, an employee asked if he could help. I explained what I needed, and within a couple of minutes I had a 20 count bag of screws to do the job. I went to pay, he said to just take them, clearly I needed them quick fast and in a hurry. I told him he just saved a wedding, which I hope made it all worth it. Thank you, for not hesitating to help a stranger. Shop at this store, customer service is incredible!”
