DONT order the brisket. Big disappointment as they slice it cold on a deli slicer and the re-heat until tough and chewy.
DO order the Chopped Pork, Chicken and Smoked Sauages!! The sides were great too... broccoli salad, Mac and cheese, Brunswick stew and hush puppies piping hot. Lemon butter on them is a must.

Wayside Inn
7783 Main Street, MiddletownWe have stayed at the Wayside Inn several times over the past 17 years and this past weekend we were amazed at the improvements made. The atmosphere was great, the new dining situation was MUCH improved and the food fantastic. Staff was wonderful. The only drawback was that the air conditioner in our room, the Middletown, was a bit noisy. It woke us up occasionally.

Backroom Brewery
150 Ridgemont Rd, MiddletownUnfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the beer, but I did have an experience with a friendly staff member. My car broke down and I managed to make it here to wait for the tow truck. I had my 6 month old and 2 year old boys with me and it was a really hot day. Although I did manage to get the boys picked up so they didn't have to wait in the sun for the tow with me, a member of the staff having seen them earlier stopped by to make sure we were OK. She then unlocked the building for me so I could wait inside and made sure I had some cold water to cool off. I can't thank her enough for her kindness and will return (when the car is fixed) to try the beer.
