“Tonight I ran into Food Lion to grab some Splenda for my sweet mama… and witnessed something that just didn’t sit right with me.
The woman in front of me decided to absolutely go in on a brand new employee—like first day on the job new. All because he asked to scan her ID for an alcohol purchase (which is standard policy). She showed it… but refused to let him scan it.
When he followed policy and declined the sale, she cussed him out and treated him horribly.
Let me say this loud for the people in the back:
He was doing his job.
People… do better.
Even if you think you’re right, there is a time and place to address it—and it’s NOT by tearing someone down who’s just trying to do their job.

Do not underestimate the floral department at Fresh Market! Kira Stacey, and Ty all went out of their way to make my arrangements beautiful and stunning for my special occasion. I am on crutches and Kira, shift manager, called over her headset for Stacey to come to floral. Ty who I learned is an art major also assisted. Kira brought me a chair so that I would be comfortable while I waited for their magic to be created before my eyes! Ty even delivered my bouquets to my car! Fresh Market of Norfolk is my go to! Thank you, Kira, for your leadership and compassion - it shows in the employees and the atmosphere as soon as you walk in.”

“I recently completed a DoorDash shopping order at Store#1416. I want to give a kudos shoutout to a few of the employees. I had a large order that required the use of 3 shopping carts. The employees were so gracious to place 1 of my carts in the holding freezer in order to maintain optimal freshness. When it came time to checkout, they designated 2 lanes in order to ensure my orders were rung properly and with minimal fuss.
KRYSTAL, MEHKAI, SHELIAH and MARQUELL all helped me checkout, ensured my orders were separated and helped me push the carts out to my vehicle. In a world where the human factor is often replaced for convenience, it is so very appreciated to have interactions that go above and beyond basic customer service. I just wanted to ensure their store manager knew what Amazing employees they have.”

“Filipinos make some damn good comfort food. And as it's been another rough day, comfort food is what I need. I'm like Kung Fu Panda, I eat when I get stressed...and when I'm happy... and well, just because. I'm a foodie, don't judge! Today I really wanted Tocino, something sweet and savory, especially since I don't really eat meat anymore. But alas, my craving was not able to be satisfied as they did not have any today. They did, however, have a large assortment of fish, lumpia, loganisa, sinigang... for $5.25, you get a heaping two item entree. Lumpia is only sixty cents a piece. For less than $40, I got two combos, a dozen lumpia and four loganisa. And since my eyes are almost always bigger than my stomach, I barely even had a third of my combo before getting too full. So glad this place is here!”

“To the General Manager... The guy closing the store on August 2 2023 deserves a raise. Today is my second day in Virginia and i had to buy something extremely important to me and i thought you guys closed at 10. I got there and the guy met me at the door and asked me if i wanted to come in and he said "one minute' meaning he was willing to let me get what i needed before he closed. No other store or employee in my 44 years of life has done anything like this. going above and beyond to do his job and still have a great attitude about his job and towards custmers he dont even know. So, yes, This employee you have right now deserves recognition and im not talking about a simple thank you for being a Dollar General family member or a pizza party... He deserves a raise. Employees this good are seriously and extremely hard to find and you should let him know how thankful you are for having him on board.”
“family owned neighborhood business. not quite a grocery store but more than a corner store, with comparable prices to a big grocery store. you wont find -everything- youre looking for, but you will find a variety of staple foods and quick items (we bought hamburger buns.) store also sells cooked chicken wings "5 party wings", hot sausages, and potato wedges. owner and staff are friendly”
