    “Tonight I ran into Food Lion to grab some Splenda for my sweet mama… and witnessed something that just didn’t sit right with me. The woman in front of me decided to absolutely go in on a brand new employee—like first day on the job new. All because he asked to scan her ID for an alcohol purchase (which is standard policy). She showed it… but refused to let him scan it. When he followed policy and declined the sale, she cussed him out and treated him horribly. Let me say this loud for the people in the back: He was doing his job. People… do better. Even if you think you’re right, there is a time and place to address it—and it’s NOT by tearing someone down who’s just trying to do their job. Kindness costs nothing. Respect goes a long way. Don’t be a Karen. ?”

I got a BOGO today (7/28/2026) on an 8 pack of Gatorade. Gatorade is salt and flavored sugar water. Gatorade was invented by a University of Florida Professor to beat the heat. It replaces salts lost in sweat from heat, work and exercise. Essential for troops who work in the heat. Also beneficial for hydration when you are sick. HT-Harris Teeter store brands are pretty good and sold at a discount. There are fewer homeless people around this store compared to other stores in the area. Convenient for military at NAVSTA and JEB.”

    “To the General Manager... The guy closing the store on August 2 2023 deserves a raise. Today is my second day in Virginia and i had to buy something extremely important to me and i thought you guys closed at 10. I got there and the guy met me at the door and asked me if i wanted to come in and he said "one minute' meaning he was willing to let me get what i needed before he closed. No other store or employee in my 44 years of life has done anything like this. going above and beyond to do his job and still have a great attitude about his job and towards custmers he dont even know. So, yes, This employee you have right now deserves recognition and im not talking about a simple thank you for being a Dollar General family member or a pizza party... He deserves a raise. Employees this good are seriously and extremely hard to find and you should let him know how thankful you are for having him on board.”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

  • Loblaw Plans to Open 70 New Stores and Spend $2.4 Billion in 2026

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
