“I went to go renew my passport at around 3:45pm. I was doing it last minute and with no appointment. Walk in hours for passports was 9am-10am. A very kind gentleman by the name of Mr. Pham did my passport renewal anyways. He was incredibly kind and accommodating and saved me a lot of time and energy as I was doing it last minute. He was very helpful.”

“Needed to get my fingerprints done for a volunteer opportunity with a Fairfax County school. The closest option to my home was Hanmi Post. The location is tucked in the rear from the Main Street. The hours were serviceable, convenient and plentiful. I was in the store for less than 5 minutes, I had a scheduled appointment for 10:00 a.m., and was walking out by 10:03 a.m. The gentleman working was very soft spoken, polite and courteous. Would recommend this location if you need fingerprints done. Enjoy!”

One of the staff members helped both of us with great patience, kindness, and professionalism throughout the entire process. She took the time to answer our questions, made sure everything was completed correctly, and treated us with genuine care and respect.

“Had the best experience ever at the USPS Herndon Post Office yesterday afternoon. I had to rush a shipment of close to fifty boxes of school related books for children on the island of Puerto Rico. During the day I was trying to figure out the best and most affordable way to get the boxes delivered and Patel helped me sort out the boxes, I needed, labels etc. During the afternoon I boxed all of the items with the help of my wife, son and daughter. By 5pm on this Friday I went back to the Post Office and Patel lent me four carts to unload our boxes. Meanwhile, the other employee there Zafirah started preparing the shipment orders and identified a mistake in the zip code which she kindly went about fixing one box at a time by using white out and correcting the mistake to ensure the shipment got there on time. She also had Patel set aside a “trolley” to ensure all boxes were loaded together so they could get there together instead of separately. It took about an hour to do it all but both Zafirah and Patel were mega kind and willing ti ensure the process went through smoothly. I can I thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. This is what public service is all about !!!”

“LOVE this post office. You can park for free — unlike many post offices. The staff is super-friendly, unlike many post offices (looking at you, River Road, Potomac!) and they are knowledgeable and efficient but not officious (looking at you again, Potomac!). Plenty of mailing stuff if you need it — plus some greeting cards and sets of cards. All the stamps. Never a line (hello Potomac, and Bethesda POs). But mostly it’s the staff.”
“My package was delivered to the wrong address. I called and spoke to Jerry at this location and he was able to locate it and have it redelivered within an hour. I appreciate his attention in resolving our issue so quickly! Thank you!”

My husband visited the post office and the staff was extremely helpful. “Had an appointment for my passport and was seen by H Tran earlier than the time. I was in and out within 15 minutes. She was nice and prompt with service. Highly recommend going online and filling out the form and getting the photo ahead and you may also need to submit documents to the State Department.”

My family and I lived in Dunn Loring from the late 90s through 2003, and this little post office was a constant in our lives for decades. It holds a special place in all our hearts, and when I had the chance to visit again in April 2026, the nostalgia hit me the moment I walked through the door.
It felt exactly as I remembered, the same charming, old-school small building, unchanged and unpretentious. My kids grew up coming here with me, and standing there again, I could almost picture those earlier days, with packages to send, holidays to prepare for, and always a familiar face behind the counter. In a world where everything seems to change overnight, there is something deeply comforting about a place that simply stays the same.
The staff were decent and genuinely helpful, taking care of us with a warmth that reminded me exactly why my family and I loved this neighborhood so much.
To the whole team at Dunn Loring USPS, from my family and me, a heartfelt thank you for so many years of wonderful service. You may be a small office, but to us, you were always a big part of home.

“I had to get some passport photos taken for a Canadian passport renewal. I had the pleasure to be assisted by Daryl Clark who was so kind and patient. He really took his time to make sure the photo would be compliant and respect all the rules of the Canadian passport photos per their official website which turned out to be quite the process but he did it all with a smile on his face. Thank you so much for your excellent service Daryl, I really appreciate it.”

“I read a lot of the 1 star comments before posting my review because I was curious what was so horrible about this place. And wow do you people need to get a grip on reality.
Those complaining about the lunch time, one even saying they should add staff to rotate so its not closed for lunch, do you say that about doctors offices or other professions that go to lunch? Everyone deserves and is LEGALLY required to have a lunch break. If you dont like the hours, don't blame the location, call the main office and complain, it's them who set the time.
Those complaining that they are asked to leave at 5pm closing time, tell me this, do you leave your job at the end of your shift or do you stick around and continue working without being paid? They have a hard enough job as it is with people yelling at them all day for things out of their control, they have families and a life they'd like to get back to just like you.
Victoria, the older lady I see people complaining about, is a good caring woman. Every time she see's me she asks how my mother is doing and we have a nice little chat with smiles and laughter! Would you like to know why I get that treatment? Because I'm kind and understanding of her position, and the struggles of her job. Customer service is a rough job no matter the place, and if you do it long enough, you get tired of people's attitudes and harassments and start giving it back, so I don't blame her for how she treats some of you with the attitudes I'm reading you're giving her. Put yourself in others shoes before you judge!

“The blue button for package drop off is broken (step 1), but the scanner still works (step 2). I heard a beep when it scanned, so I placed my package in the chute (step 3), closed it and a tracking link was printed out. 24/7- nice option to have nearby!”

“I usually go early in the morning when there’s little to no line. Never had an issue with the staff. They were friendly, polite, and provided a professional customer service.
Sometimes they work a bit slower due to passport appointments but it’s an understandable problem. Just gotta have a little bit of patience. Never had a negative interaction here.”
