“Quaint little country convenience store and gas station. They have the typical “gas station staples” (Soda, chips, candy etc) but also have a full service walk up counter and kitchen as part of their new renovation. They serve fresh home-cooked Country food staples such as Fried Chicken, Catfish and Greens. The menu rotates daily and the food is freshly prepared. Definitely not “fast food” by any means. They have outdoor seating as well to enjoy. Some of the prices can be a little high as compared to other local options.”

“They make one heck of a great breakfast sausage. And he was proud to tell you, the flavor was because he uses sage. I really do miss Mr Williams. Each time I visited the marina, he would be sitting at the table by the front door greeting his customers. Such a great man. He is looking over us in heaven.”

“Stopped here to meet someone outside, waited too long but got a coffee, for a $1! So, for a buck you get a coffee and powdered milk. Hey, it was ok, hot and not bad. Not much else I can say other than there were people coming and going all the time for the small store there.”

“6/9/2025: I drive to this establishment regularly to get fried chicken and pork chops. It never disappoints, and my server today, Elsa, was Fantastic; super sweet, kind, and respectful. I will continue to come back, been doing it for over five(5) years. Dr. Ken King

The Dinwiddie Food Barn is one of my favorite gas stations for fresh cooked food; fried chicken, pork chops, fish, gizzards, livers, and other favorites. You can see the ladies cooking it right through the doors of the kitchen. The staff is super friendly and it is always a pleasure please to drive/ride to this facility from Chesterfield. Been visiting this gas station, not for gas, but food for over five(5) years when I found it riding my motorcyle returning from the Carolinas. Been going/eating there since then. v/r, Dr. Ken King”

“Lucie was my cashier and she was awesome! She had a great smile, a positive attitude, and was just really pleasant to talk to. It was so refreshing to see someone who actually enjoys helping customers. You don’t get that kind of service everywhere these days. Most places you can barely get eye contact or even have some read you your total. Lucie made the whole experience great. She’s definitely a bright spot and I don't reviews often but it was so refreshing to see that I felt that I had to give this a shout out. Definitely will continue my business here with employees and customers service like hers around.”

“Look, I never thought I'd develop a deeply emotional connection with a gas station, but here we are.

This place isn’t just where I fuel my car—it’s where I fuel my soul (and my serious sunflower seed habit). The staff are absolute gems. Not only did they notice my borderline obsession with sunflower seeds, but they went ahead and added an extra box to their order just for me. Who does that? Legends, that’s who!!

They know my snack cravings better than some of my own relatives. I half expect them to start reading my mind next. If you're looking for a place that’s clean, friendly, and weirdly intuitive about your snack needs, this is it.

10/10 would recommend. Also, shoutout to the cashiers who always has the best energy—I see y'all!”

“Another one of Virginia's Country Road Hidden Gems:
the little Hispanic lady with whom I talked, on the late morning of 10 May, 2025, was in the kitchen getting lunch foods ready; but she came out in a jiff and we chatted about the fried chicken. After having a large and late breakfast, I decided to forego the bird legs, and got some bubble gum for my continuing journey to Adam's Acres. It should not be long before I will come back for a small lunch and I can review the food offerings here.”

“The staff at Walgreens North Dinwiddie are awesome. The pharmacy staff, Ron, Judy, Brian, Melissa, and everyone provide excellent customer service. This review, I hope management reads: the pharmacy needs additional staff so that both drive through windows stay open. Customers need to be informed that the drive through is for drop off and pick up, it's not to ask a bunch of questions and argue about insurance, go inside and help keep the flow of traffic moving in the drive through. Management NEEDS to clean up outside, the lights are covered with spiders, cobwebs. The perimeter is covered with trash, the drive through hasn't been power washed in years. KEEP Walgreens clean on the inside and outside. Trim the shrubs, help customers feel safe while on the premises.”

“I recently had to switch here as my old pharmacy closed. While there has been some confusion with the switch, I must say this... As I stood in line with a clerk who was putting my scripts in the computer I witnessed several customers beside me being helped with Kindness and Compassion and lots of patience. Yes I said it. The clerk who helped me gave me that as well, kindness, compassion and patience. Even when my meds were lost behind the counter, 3 employees stopped what they were doing and dug through every box to find my meds. I did have a long wait but that didn't matter. I was treated very kindly and they even searched for coupons to save me money on scripts if I needed it. I commend the pharmacy staff for that. Now when I got to the front of the store, I was waiting on my mother to make a purchase when I noticed a fair price on some merchandise behind the counter. When it was my turn to check out, those items I wanted to purchase didnt ring up correctly. I pointed that out to the clerk and He became quite upset and rude with me. He seemed to talk down to me and argue that those items had been placed there by mistake, however I still requested I receive them for that price because from where I was standing I could only see the price not the description. He seemed very angry at me at that point and I told him its OK its not his fault another employee put them in the wrong spot but I still wanted that price because again all I could see from my side of the counter was the price not the description. Things were just about to get more heated when another employee came to relieve him from his duties and told him that yes , Me as the customer could obviously not see the description only the price. She proceeded to ring me up and corrected the mistake and asked him to move the merchandise to the right spot quickly. I do appreciate the quick action on their part but didn't appreciate the anger coming from him when it was not his fault unless maybe it was his fault who knows. Im still giving this store 5 stars because of the compassion I witnessed from the overworked and overwhelmed pharmacy members who kept their cool in this difficult situation gaining lots of new customers and maintaining their patience and to the woman employee at the front of the store who corrected what could have been a problem very quickly. Thanks Walgreens! And one more thing... The employees in the pharmacy need a raise! Just saying”
