What this man did yesterday I would have bet my last dollar that no one in this world would ever do. I am still in shock and awe! Arrangements were made with the owner for me to pick up a fishing rod for a friend. I had to travel 1 1/2 hours to get this particular fishing rod. I go there and the place was closed. I waited an hour and 40 minutes and left. Arrangements were made again for me to pick up this fishing rod. I called several times yesterday and he didn't open till after 10am. I wanted to leave here and be at 9:30am and back here by 11am or so. Now my day just got pushed back another 2 hours. I finally got ahold of him, and he said he's there and will be till closing, that he's very sorry for the trouble I've gone through for this. When I gave him the money for the rod. He asked me how much money was spent on gas for these 2 trips. I told him $120 and 6 hours traveling for both trips. He gave me the fishing rod and I gave him the money for it. What he did then shocked me to my core!!! He gives me back every dollar I just gave him AND the fishing rod. He said he was very sorry for all the gas and trouble I had to go through. Here's the thing, this man had an emergency medical issue. The way this all went down was NOT any fault of the owner in any way! He could have said I'm sorry and kept the money. It was a medical issue, and I would have just left it at that with no hard feelings. But he insisted I take the money back. There's another aspect to this. This was not a fishing rod out of his own stock. He was selling the rod for someone else. That means when he pays the owner for the rod, it comes out of his own pocket. I feel that anyone willing to go this far to keep a customer happy even though it was no fault of his, is one really decent person!!!! Get your tackle and bait at this store. This is the kind of place locals should want to keep in their community and support!”
