“Great stop! Has everything and then some. Beer, liquor, tobacco, vape, Kratos, munchies. Need a new dab rig? They got you. Also dougs burgers parks there from Wednesday through Friday and sometimes Saturdays.”
“I had such a great experience at CHS Ferndale’s garden center! I loved being able to walk through and see such a huge variety of plants — it honestly felt more like strolling through a beautiful garden than shopping. Everything was well cared for and inspiring to look at. Lisa was incredibly helpful while I was looking around and made the whole experience even better.”
“Great selection here at this store! Love it because they have great breakfast selections and it's very close to home. The clerks here are great! Very good customer service (I like being called "hun" lol) and prices are fair. Only complaint I have is that it seems like they don't make enough mozzarella sticks throughout the day so if I want them I have to get there early and I usually buy all of them up. Most of the time they are out when I get there though. Overall, still one of my favorite stores to frequent! I also have a few friends who work there which makes it fun!”

“I live close to the Canada–US border and, before the pandemic, I used to visit the U.S. every month or two. I stopped traveling first because of COVID, and later because of the increasingly tense and toxic political climate. As a Canadian, some of the recent rhetoric has felt discouraging, and I had largely avoided crossing the border.
This trip was an exception. I drove my parents to Seattle so they could fly to Florida to visit my brother. Although there are direct flights from Vancouver, I felt it might be easier to cross the border by car given the current situation.
On January 11, 2026, while driving back to Vancouver alone, I hit a large pothole on the highway, which caused a flat tire on the driver’s side. I managed to exit the highway and slowly drive to the nearest gas station at 5639 Barrett Ave.
The staff there were incredible—especially Kelly. I initially asked her to help me add air to the tire since I wasn’t familiar with the equipment. After checking the tire, she immediately saw there was a large hole and kindly said, “Oh dear, you’re not going anywhere.”
It was Sunday afternoon around 2 PM, and many auto shops were already closed or about to close. Kelly went far beyond what anyone could expect: she called local shops she knew, checked the Yellow Pages, looked up Google reviews, found a trustworthy auto shop that was still open, and helped me arrange a towing company that arrived right on time.
Because of her help, my car was repaired just 15 minutes before the shop closed, and I made it back to Canada safely that night. Without Kelly, I truly don’t know what I would have done.
This experience reminded me that even when I strongly disagree with governments or politics, the kindness of everyday people still matters—and it’s still there. I told Kelly that one day I would come back to the U.S., just to say thank you again in person.
I will never forget her kindness”

“Not a fan of the paid parking but, greatful for handicapped spot. Having serious back pain issues, requiring shots to spine for treatment reduces most of it. Walking long distances is difficult and painful. Thanks!”

“I just had the best experience with a Walgreens cashier. She was absolutely the sweetest most helpful person. I was actually having a crummy day and she made me forget about it for a moment.”
“Best little place in Ferndale. A good selection of snacks and a few hard to find Canadian and ethnic snacks.
Mike the owner is a really nice guy too and very friendly.”
