Pet Care

Animal Hospital By the Sea
114 Second Street, LangleyI have been a pet owner for decades and have encountered many vets in my time. Dr. Jean's practice is the kindest, most compassionate, and caring veterinary office I have ever encountered. She and her staff have helped me through some extremely rough moments and joyful ones too. It has been such a gift to discover this practice, we are lucky to have them on the island. You and your pet will be in the best hands.

Animal Hospital By the Sea: Dieden Jean DVM
114 Second Street, LangleyWe were so pleased with the great results of how the spay operation on our beagle was done. A small incision and our dog was fine in every way which we were surprised to see. The doctor called afterwards to check on her. There were just no problems. No worries with Dr. Dieden.

Langley Kitchen
138 Second Street, LangleyEnjoyed several visits here during our vacation stay in Whidbey. It quickly became our go-to morning stop due to friendly staff and good coffee and pastries. Waiting area outside was nice for the whole family. They were genuine and kind, interacted with our kids (five of them), and made us feel welcome. Their coffee was also very good. They even took the extra time to make some good island visit recommendations. We are so grateful we tried this place on day one!

Flower House Cafe
2780 Marshview Ave, LangleyEating here, especially when it’s not crowded, is always a lovely experience. We were a little disappointed today, as we arrived at 3pm (they close at 4pm) and the kitchen was already closed, so only bakery items were available. I understand that the staff are eager to be done with their day, but when I worked for a retail outfit that was known for its exemplary customer service, we were taught not to begin cleanup until all the customers had left the store and the doors were locked. Why? Because when you’re open, you’re supposed to be making the customers feel comfortable and welcome, not rushed or awkward. If the Cafe is going to stop serving warm food at a certain time, I wish they would post this. I did not remove stars, as everyone was kind and courteous (other than the cleaning bit, but that had started before we arrived), the food we did get was delicious (their baked goods and handcrafted drinks are great) and the atmosphere in the afternoon is calm and lovely.

Whidbey Pies Pie Shop
111 Anthes Ave, LangleyNot my first time eating Whidbey Pies, but it was my first time at this little location- I really should have bought a whole pie for Thanksgiving- but instead I bought a slice of pear-cranberry pie. Omgoodness- it was delicious and very similar to apple pie. Shockingly so. Since I didn't buy a whole pie, I had to bake my own- but this is definitely a wonderful substitute if you don't bake! Highly recommend!!

Taproom@Bayview Corner
5603 Bayview Rd Ste 7, LangleyGreat beers on tap! We had an assortment of appetizers which were all be good! My sister had the fish and chips, which she raved about. For a pub is a bit spendy, but if you find yourself in Langley, on Whidbey Island, and hankering for a really good beer, etc., you should definitely stop in at the Taproom!

The Braeburn Restaurant
197 Second Street, LangleyFood was top tier, fresh qualities and made with care. We ordered the Shakshuka and The Braeburn, and finished every last bite. Service was spectacular, attentive but also gave us the privacy needed to explain our feast. Ambiance: brightly lit, with tasteful decor. Fun and charming vibe.

Prima Bistro
201 1/2 1st St, LangleyWent on my birthday after being late due to getting lost on the island after traveling all day from Portland...so lost our reservation time. Chris C waited on us and, even though there were tables open, we had to sit inside. We explained what had happened and asked if there was any possibility of sitting outside on the patio and he said no..they were for people with reservations.
For the entire meal that we sat inside, the 2 tables for 2 outside never were occupied. We even offered to be seated outside and be moved if the reservation couples showed up. Tonight we returned because other places were closed.
Chris C was off (thank goodness), but the amazingly kind hostess Ashley heard our sob story about getting lost on the island and having to call and cancel our reservation on my birthday and gave us GREAT seats on the deck without even hesitating. We had a delicious fish and chips meal and wanted to send a huge thanks to the Ashley, who was so great at listening and handling us so graciously and kindly. What a great asset she is to the restaurant. DELICIOUS food!!
