Pet Care

Apple Tree Cove Animal Hospital
11254 NE 2nd St, KingstonI adore this vet office. We were new to Kingston and nervous about finding a new vet and we couldn’t be happier. Our 14 year old Chiweenie needed 14 teeth extracted and the entire team was incredible. Dr. Whitaker is an angel and every single tech and the gals at the front desk are amazing.

Christin Finn DVM
7515 NE State Hwy 104, KingstonDr Finn assisted our family with our (13+ year old) dog’s reoccurring cancer. She made two house calls and got us ready to see that his life was coming to an end. She is professional, supportive and totally a master at her trade. So grateful to have had her expertise and kindness during this very sad time.
Dr Finn’s book definitely helped with our grieving process, thank you so much.

Pet Sitting & Training

Westward Hound
21291 Howard Ave NE, KingstonThere aren’t enough stars for Amanda’s knowledge, enthusiasm & effectiveness. I met her a few years ago when my black lab was pinning a friend of mine’s dog. She gave me the tools to encourage positive behavior towards the other dog and they became best friends surprisingly quickly! When I ran across another that Pax didn’t like, I went back to Amanda and once again, she is working miracles. Does it take effort as an owner to follow throw on strategies and exercises? Yes, but they’re so effective & SO worth it. Purely positive reinforcement at its best. Thank you, Amanda, for your knowledge and the faith you have in me and Pax!

Run Dog Run
26509 Bond Rd NE, KingstonWe cannot recommend Kylee at Run Dog Run highly enough! We began working with her after we adopted our 3.5 year old Border Collie who had spent several months in shelters. The difference we have seen is nothing short of remarkable, and our dog LOVES her!
Kylee not only helped all of us with basic obedience, she helped him build confidence and become much less reactive with other dogs and to his surroundings through desensitization training. We also learned how to engage his high intelligence and channel his energy and instincts in practical ways to ensure he has a structured and balanced life.
It really helps too that the team at Run Dog Run will know about your dog’s training and will reinforce key aspects (like no jumping on people!) if the dog attends daycare/boarding. Half-day sessions once a week really improved our dog’s socialization and confidence as well. This combination has worked wonderfully for us.
Through her program, our dog has transformed from an anxious, jumpy pup to a confident, well-adjusted dog who understands his job is to engage with us and not to stress over every passing car or squirrel.
Thank you, Kylee, for being such a knowledgeable and compassionate trainer for Wrigley! We are so grateful to have found you!

The Saucy Sailor
11252 NE State Hwy 104 Ste B, KingstonStopped by The Saucy Sailor while passing through and honestly it was one of those places that surprises you. The seafood tasted fresh, the sauces actually had a lot of flavor instead of just being salty, and everything came out hot. I went with a shrimp basket and it was cooked just right, plus the fries were crispy the whole time. The staff had a super chill attitude and made the place feel welcoming from the start. It’s got a relaxed coastal vibe where you can just kick back and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Definitely a spot I’d come back to next time I’m in the area.

Argensol
25923 Washington Blvd NE Suite 101, KingstonAdorable spot in Kingston right on the water. Admittedly, I’ve only had frozen, Safeway empanadas before this place, but these were absolutely incredible. We ordered three of them. One chicken, one ham and cheese, and one beef. They were all uniquely made and all had their own unique flavors, but the beef empanada was incredible!

The Lounge at d'Vine Bistro
11227 NE State Hwy 104, KingstonThe Lounge is a welcome addition to the Kitsap Peninsula and Kingston WA. It is so refreshing to have good food, excellent ambiance, and fantastic customer service given that our home town of Poulsbo sets the bar so extremely low due to high tourist traffic. In Poulsbo, the menus are pedestrian and completely lacking in innovation, the food is consistently under seasoned (e.g., Crabtree Kitchen which has the potential, but is consistently disappointing), and the prices are undeservedly high. The Lounge joins the rare culinary few, such as Butcher and Baker (Port Gamble) that pay attention to the basics and deliver at a very high level. Malik and Lauren are such consummate professionals and added greatly to our positive experience. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and my wife ordered the Lox Benedict, both were excellent. The hollandaise sauce was seasoned very well. The potatoes were slightly under seasoned, but that may be a personal preference. The overall bit was excellent and the seasoning carried the complete bite!
If you are in Kingston WA and the Lounge is open, do yourself a favor and allow yourself and indulgent experience l.

Westside Pizza
25960 Ohio Ave NE, KingstonThis is a must stop for our family on our way home before the ferry. The pizza is always delicious and bonus they have dairy free cheese! The people who work there are always super nice and helpful. Pro tip: order online for pick up when you are getting close to the ferry line and then walk there from the line to pick up before the ferry comes.

J'aime Les Crêpes Crêperie
11264 WA-104, KingstonFamily owned. I've been going here ever since They started doing street fairs in places like Port Gamble. Owners Really have a passion about delivering good quality and they went to France to perfect the technique. You can really taste it. Our favorite is the spinach and cheese Crepe, but we love all the savories and my husband adored their strawberry crepe. Today I'm going in for ice cream.
