Corral Drive In
2506 Pacific Ave N, Long BeachI love this place for the most part. I have to say that the food was a little better before it changed hands. I don’t mean it’s gotten really bad. It just was a little better. Burgers are good. The shakes are really good and that’s really it.

The Cove Restaurant
9604 Pacific Way, Long BeachMy husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary in Long Beach this weekend. We had read that the Cove was pet friendly and that they even have a puppy menu. We decided to check it out. The weather was nice, our server was fantastic and the food was great. We had the fried artichokes for an appetizer. I had the halibut fish and chips and a strawberry basil margarita. My husband decided on a Reuben. Of course we had to try the clam chowder so we got that instead of fries and our dog got the turkey bites. Everything was really good especially the clam chowder and fried artichokes. We will definitely be returning here next time we visit Long Beach.

Captain Bob’s Chowder Sisters
409 Pacific Ave S, Long BeachThis little joint was fantastic. We had our two pups and were on the hunt for lunch. Coming from AZ desert where we don’t get fresh seafood … we wanted seafood. My husband is a clam chowder fanatic and extra points if he gets it in a bread bowl ( loves his carbs). We had read reviews they had outdoor tables here and the reviews were good so we landed here. The nice lady inside took our order… at first I was not getting anything as I am not a fan of clams BUT she indicated she did have the crab roll which I jumped on. I got the sense she makes all of the food herself? Anyway she brought our food out which we inhaled. The crab roll was EXCELLENT, not sure why I was surprised… the hubs loved his chowder bread bowls well. It’s a little hole in the wall sort of place next to a big souvenir store so easily missed. SO glad we spotted it.

South Pacific County Humane Society
US Mailbox 101, 330 2nd St NE, Long BeachLong past due review. I adopted my sweet boy Patrick and his sister Momo from this shelter about 3.5 years ago. I initially filled out an online application for a cat named Mustard and was approved so I made the 2.5 hour drive down from Tacoma to meet Mustard. Mustard had other plans and wanted nothing to do with me lol. But these sweet young siblings were all over us, climbing on our shoulders and everything. Since I wasn’t planning on adopting two cats, (let alone 2 kittens!) the shelter gave us a deal on their adoption fees. I don’t remember the price but it was very reasonable, considering they were already spayed and neutered, UTD on shots, and microchipped. The ladies working there were very nice! And about a week or so after bringing them home the shelter realized they either hadn’t had their flea treatment or were due for another so they even mailed us the treatment to save us the 2.5 hour drive. My cats are amazing and it was awesome to work with South Pacific Humane Society. I would highly recommend them!
