Public Coast Brewing Co
264 E 3rd St, Cannon BeachWe ordered Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup, Kids Fish & Chips (the only fish available was halibut), and a bowl of Clam Chowder to eat. To drink, a Blueberry Hard Lemonade.
Pros:
-The Blueberry Hard Lemonade was great. I wish I could've had 3 of them.
-Clam Chowder was pretty good, especially for a restaurant that doesn't market itself as a seafood specialty place. I personally prefer a little bacon in mine, but still a pretty darn good version.
-Tomato soup tasted fresh. I thought too much basil. My wife thought not enough, lol. Either way, we both liked it better than most.
-Grilled cheese sandwich was good on a slightly wet day, but the thing that took it over the top was the sourdough bread.
-The halibut tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly.
Cons:
-The portion size of the $19 kids fish & chips, even as a kids portion, was honestly pretty laughable. There were two pieces of fish, neither bigger than a french fry. If there was 2 oz of fish on that plate, I'd be shocked.
-I really dislike places where I order at the front, I get asked for a tip, and then everything beyond that is my responsibility. Want some water, get your own. Want a soda, get your own. Want your dishes cleared, do it yourself.

Bill's Tavern & Brewhouse
188 N Hemlock St, Cannon BeachA visit to Cannon Beach isn’t complete without a meal (or two) at Bill’s Tavern. It has that perfect coastal-town feel—welcoming, casual, and the kind of place you’ll want to return to every time you’re in town.
Choose your experience: sit inside in the family area, grab a seat at the bar, settle into a booth, or enjoy the patio when the weather cooperates. My standard order is a hamburger with extra pickles (essential!) and chips, paired with a Blackberry Beauty.
If it’s your first visit, start with a beer flight and explore their creative selection of brews. And trust me—whether it’s you or someone at your table, order the Blackberry Beauty. You’ll be glad you did.
Bill’s is one of those places that becomes part of your Cannon Beach tradition, not just another restaurant you visit.
