“Two words: Dependable and Trustworthy.
This year I had enough of working on cars. So I started taking my vehicles to shops for repairs. So far, I’ve had a timing belt break on my Honda. So I took it to another shop (Not Brody’s as I wasn’t aware of them at the time) who didn’t apply the tensioner correctly, said I didn’t know what I was talking about, then fought tooth and nail to not warranty the work when it went out of time. That was my first experience working with a shop as a customer.
Fast forward, one brake goes out on the truck and I go to a reputable company (Les Schwab). It’s within warranty (1 year into a 3 year warranty) but there was some weird contingency where they didn’t honor it and I had to replace both sides in full. I also got the truck back with a constant brake light which I had to repair myself.
By the time I go to Brody’s I’m on the side of not trusting shops anymore. I do some work on my friend’s house in preparation for selling it and in exchange she offered to pay for the cooling system overhaul. The only contingency is it HAS to be done at Brody’s because she trusts this shop. At the time I was pissed and anxious about going to another shop. I take the truck in and they repair the radiator offering to replace some other parts. I just didn’t want to go through on the water pump because I felt it was already a huge favor from my friend. Well, that water pump went out a few days later. Nonetheless, Brody’s still offered to discount the work.
I think it had been 6 months after the cooling system repairs that the new radiator cracked for whatever reason. Due to my experience with shops in the past I’m still over here thinking they aren’t going to honor their warranty. Ryan answered and surprisingly remembered me. Was just as shocked and said he would be able to get the job done in a day and honor the warranty. I’m happy to say that every time I’ve brought my truck here the work has been done in a timely manner. I have never been second guessed in my diagnosis or belittled and taken the wrong way for when parts go bad. It happens. Believe me I KNOW and there’s nothing wrong with it. What matters to me is how a shop handles an issue and Brody’s has done an amazing job each and every time. The heater core still needs to be replaced which is a HUGE job. No matter where I go I know the job is going to be costly. If I were to choose a reputable shop to go through with the repairs (when I have the cash) I know I will choose Brody’s thanks to the peace of mind they offer and timely service.
