“I have been going to this ace hardware since they opened and have never been disappointed. On my list today was a chainsaw blade, and a few other items. As I was getting out of my car I noticed my car was not locking and figured my battery was dead in my key fob. A soon as I walked in Shannon was there at the counter found the proper battery and replaced it on the spot while I gathered my other items. I was in and out quickly and got everything I needed plus the new battery for my key. My expectations were exceeded and it will continue to be a regular store for me.”

“When you go to Harbor Freight you have a few considerations. Am I only going to use this tool once? Do I require keeping all 10 fingers or is 9 1/2 okay? At the same time knowing that you could be getting a decent tool or something that violates the law of physics with a restraining order against OSHA, but keeps you going back.”

“Guys are always friendly and helpful with swapping out tanks even for a hobbyist like myself. They once even held off closing when I called to let them know I was just down the street and needed only a 120cu bottle of argon and a swap for my MC Acetylene and 20cu Oxy .If you are bringing Oxy Acetylene Tanks purchased off Amazon make certain they have either a “DOT” marking stamped on it OR a “UN/ISO” marking stamped followed by the letters/numbers(It’s kinda frowned on to skimp on supporting your local distributor this way so if you’re just starting or thinking of getting a new tank, paying a little extra now will get you a boatload of helpful advice and friendly service especially if you plan to make future trips to this store.)If you’re bringing an old cylinder MAKE sure it doesn’t have a business name on it or say “property of” OR have XXXXXXX struck into the Identification Numbers/Dates as they CANNOT & WILL NOT exchange these (Don’t fault them that’s Federal Law & Corporate Policy as well as common sense)Don’t worry if the tank is outside its certification dates, so long as the cylinder is in GOOD Shape (I.e. NOT dented, rust pitted out, if it has the original fill sticker that helps a lot) you’ll simply have to pay an extra $30 recertification fee cuz you’ll be receiving one that has been recently certified … IF YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU SWAP A TANK explain your situation; there’s no guarantee as they are limited by the stock on hand but they’ll try and look)Just be courteous, honest about your experience level, transparent about your needs and the guys will respond. Never had anyone here try and upsale me a bigger cylinder or take advantage of my inexperience by declining a New 20cu Oxy Cylinder certified ISO; insisting they only accept DOT.”
