“I have a home-handyman shop and do misc. mig. I attended Renton Tech for my classes some years back. I have a Miller 211 and quite some time ago was brazing daily in order to make and sell brass and copper artworks at many art shows. I bought my 211 from Lynnwood and have purchased misc. items through Port Townsend. I found Jeremy at Lynnwood and Ryan at Port Townsend to be exceptionally helpful and patient. I am not a welding professional and sometimes I struggle to understand welding products and processes I have not worked with previously. With that in mind, I especially appreciate that these fellows have always taken the time to help me advance my knowledge and make the best purchase decisions.”
“A real hardware store, close enough to PT to say it's in PT. Which effectively makes this the only hardware store in PT, as the other one I would recommend avoiding at all costs.
Their inventory is a bit more limited in some areas, but what they carry tends to be exactly the thing I need and often the specific brand I wanted. It's like they decided to only stock all the mid-high shelf stuff, and ignore all the low or mid quality stuff, which is precisely what I want for my jobs.
Their staff really is an area where this place shines. It seems silly that the first thing I have to note is that they are honest, but when the competition in town is routinely dishonest, this stands out. Beyond that, they are extremely knowledgeable, often being tradespeople themselves, and very helpful/friendly.
Thank you so much for existing in this desert of good hardware options!”
“Great ship supply store but you must know what you’re getting into first.
1.) This is a store for PROFESSIONALS! Yes, it’s open to the public but their primary clientele are professional boat people; painters, epoxy people, trades, etc.
2.) There are no prices on anything. Again, most people buying here are pros using accounts. They don’t care what the prices are.
3.) Their focus is very much geared toward marine paint, epoxy, fiberglass, and a bit of engine maintenance. They have an extremely small selection of clothing, books, and other boating stuff. If you want marine electronics, PFDs, trailer stuff, fishing stuff, etc… you need to go to West Marine or Fisheries Supply.
But… if you want epoxy or paint or any of the supplies for those, then this is your store!”
“I'm glad I ordered before I read these reviews. I've purchased twice from them. Both are high quality reproductions which I prefer. I like the vintage look but don't care for weeding through all the junk on eBay. Both were shipped fast & packed well. The scounce arrived today & is the coolest new shiny thing I've purchased in a long time. With both these purchases, I looked for a long time & came back to vintage lighting.”
“We love the folks and the store in Port Townsend. They have everything hardware, RV, garden, garage care, repair and fabrication. Lots of help. Several employees of a sense of humor, creative ideas and suggestions. We do a bit a business there and live over an hour away. We always leave feeling like we're all friends and neighbors.”
