Come to Stewart if you want quality merchandise competitively priced, with exceptional customer service from knowledgeable staff who quietly, consistently get the repeat business from the pros that know. There are only a few legacy lumber yards in Seattle, Stewart has been around for as long as they have because they do it all correctly. “This shop has a lot of great inventory, and I really appreciate their mission around salvaging and reusing items. That said, my experience as a shopper could have been better. I felt more like an interruption than a customer while interacting with staff.
The person at the front desk seemed more engaged in a personal conversation about her dog's breed with someone who seemed more like a friend than a shopper, and when she directed me to a more knowledgeable staff member for more detailed questions, the interaction still felt unwelcoming. The counter area was cluttered, hard for me to stand at given the unnecessary obstacles at your feet, and overall it didn’t feel like there was much pride in customer service or presentation of the POS space. I guess I get it if they want to be a basic salvage store, but I think there is more opportunity here to be better.
I did ultimately find what I needed, so if customer experience is not a high priority for you, this shop will likely meet your needs. I plan to return, but I’ll probably do more independent research ahead of time so I don’t need to rely on staff for guidance.”
“The moment we walked into this Ace Hardware, the associates greeted us with such genuine warmth that it felt like visiting family. Any time we had a question, someone was at our side immediately, offering thoughtful, helpful guidance without ever being pushy. “Great place. So nice to have a solid hardware store in the neighborhood, and a local alternative to Home Depot and Lowes. I'm visually-impaired, and dropped in to see if they had garbage cans for my apartment. A clerk approached me right away, showed me where they are, and explained the options. So, so helpful. I noticed they have everything from specialty hardware and fixtures to basic kitchen utensils. Again, so glad this store exists. I'm going to be a regular.”

“I think these guys are AWESOME!! We switched to these guys when another company messed up on a few things a couple time that ended up costing us time. And we all know what time is. Anyway, They had what we needed when we needed it so as I waited for the price I was thinking it was gonna cost a lot more. They basically knew they had us in a pinch. So you can imagine I was pretty blown away when it come out to over 350.00 LESS than I've been paying. They deliver on time and there just isn't any issues. The lifts are nice and safe and the people are probably safe but I know for sure they're nice!! I can't find one thing they haven't done better than every other company!!!! If I find something I'll be sure to let you know! In the mean time, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK STAR RENTALS!! Oh and I couldn't help but notice the 1 star reviews. That really surprised me so I read as long as I could but had to stop cuz I hate being remind how st**id people are. Dude, do you know the actual trip to drop off whatever your renting isn't what cost the rental company all the time and $$$. SAFETY IS WHATS COSTING YOU SO MUCH Genius! It takes them a very long time to get all the chains out, get the trailer ready to accept the ---- (fill in the blank). Then they gotta chain that huge s***** down so when your bad driving nearly causes an accident that thing doesn't move an inch. Then they gotta do the opposite when they get to you. Oh wait, GUESS WHAT, now they gotta get it back so guess what they gotta do now?? Do I really need to type it all out again?? Probably but, we're gonna let you use your imagination. Anyway, the actual trip is the easy part cuz they've already planned for everything so they can deliver your equipment without even causing a scratch to anything!! That's impressive! Keep it up Star!!”

Super friendly and knowledgeable people who work there, local to avoid online waits and shipping fees, and they had paint cheaper than home depot or Amazon. The guys had it in the paint shaker and easy for pickup by the time I got there in 10 minutes.”

“I have shopped at Ace Hardware stores in Seattle since I bought my first home in the Magnolia area in 1980. Since I was a novice in home up-keeping, when I went to the store with a problem, I was always helped by the staff on how to solve it. I always felt respected. To this day, 45 year later, I still shop at Ace Hardware because of the service I receive in responding to questions. Also I like the products Ace Hardware carries. Where I live now in downtown Seattle, every 3 months I walk to the Ace Hardware store close to where I live and walk up and down the aisles to see what's new. “4 times out of 5 it's basically as good of a hardware store as you can get, helpful staff, good selection, the works. But man does that last 20% of the time make you annoyed. You'll still go there, where else is there in walking distance? But it still is annoying”
“I love this store! It's a true blue old school hardware store that almost always has what I need as a fix it myself homeowner and gardener. Great tools, supplies, plus the more fun necessities in all housewares every season including specialty items. You could stock your whole kitchen with quality things from here plus have great gifts and kid's stuff too. The staff is totally accessible and knowledgeable and nice and I can be in and out fast. I go several times a month and can avoid all the big stores that take too much time and are harder to navigate and often disorganized. I highly recommend trying our small stores first and this one is exemplary. Plus it smells like a real hardware store and just opening the door is a pleasure to my senses. Long live tradition that is high functioning and prices are no more than the big stores, and often less. 5 stars and this review is long overdue for how much I love it. Going there now for 2" nails, a garden tarp, bathroom cleaning wipes, laundry soap, a new teapot, and to return some electrical supplies that I ended up not needing.”
