The Seattle Marriott Waterfront is a hotel in a prime location directly across from the pier and within walking distance to the aquarium and Pike Place Market, though the walk to Pike Place is uphill. Experiences with staff service vary widely. Many guests find the staff friendly, with specific mentions of excellent bellhop and valet service, a compassionate engineer, and a great restaurant server. However, other reviews note disappointing customer service from the front desk, describing it as lacking. Guest rooms receive mixed feedback. They are generally described as clean and nice, but several guests note the rooms feel tired, lacking, and not deeply cleaned, with reports of thick dust in corners. The condition of some amenities, like a dingy pool area, is also mentioned. Views are a particular point of contention; while a partial water view is possible, some guests, including elite members, were disappointed with rooms overlooking a parking garage. There are occasional maintenance issues reported, such as malfunctioning heaters and dead door batteries. The hotel's food options are considered limited, especially off-season, with on-site establishments open only a few days a week. Overall, the location is consistently praised as excellent and convenient, but the experience at the hotel itself can be inconsistent, with some guests finding it disappointing for a Marriott property.
Disappointing for a Marriott property, especially as an ambassador elite. Room is lacking and tired with barely a view, housekeeping is lazy and rushed, and the whole hotel is just.. sad.
