We grabbed a ton of treats, a canned stuffed animal, and a few items off their used/vintage shelving which was a fun surprise to find! Now...the customers that come in and out are the ones who can make you nervous in this super small place in the middle of nowhere, so just be aware of the eyes on you if you or your family are rye or whole wheat bread amongst the 99.9% country white bread. Also be prepared for dudes in diesel trucks cursing at each other for where they parked at the pump in .05 seconds of arriving.”

“I would give more stars if I could, this is such a little gem. I’ve driven by this place multiple times a day for years and I can’t believe what i’ve been missing. The selection is extensive and comprehensive, I had a hard time trying not to grab one of everything on the shelves. The pastries are to die for, and they even offer to heat them up for you. We tried two of the meat pastries right by the register and I think I found my new food obsession. They were wonderfully soft and so flavorful. One of them is enough to fill you up but not weigh you down. All of these things together are enough to bring me back, but I will specifically be returning for the woman behind the counter. She let us take our time browsing but was immediately there for us when we were ready. She was so so kind, and more helpful than I could’ve asked for. She worked hard to communicate with us despite our language barrier. I went in feeling like an outsider as i’m inexperienced with the culture and she welcomed us in and made this store feel like a slice of home. We tried to tip her at the end as a thank you for how wonderful, patient and attentive she was and she just would not accept it. Now my mission is to learn a bit of Russian before I return :)”
“This Fred Meyers, and specifically Dane in the produce department is great. It was late I needed to have balloons filled with helium for my son's birthday, and I won't even explain the day I had going from store to store trying to get them filled. Dane was actually filling in in the floral department, he was helpful and knowledgeable and fixed a couple of the balloons that I brought in that had collapsed valves. He quickly got them all filled and got me on my way. He is awesome and the store is great. I will be shopping here in the future.”

Walmart wants your groceries at the door before the ice cream softens. On May 29, the retailer said its 30-minute-or-less delivery had reached 33 U.S. markets, adding a wave of new cities across the Northeast. Shoppers in those areas can order from more than 100,000 items, everything from fresh produce and baby formula to pet food, electronics, cold medicine, and prescriptions. Behind the scenes, the service leans on Walmart's store network and an algorithm that factors in order size, available drivers, and distance from the store.
Trader Joe's keeps adding stores, and shoppers keep showing up. The California grocer has marked nine more locations as "opening soon," pushing its expansion into new corners of the country. The grocer also took first place in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's 2026 supermarket rankings. It has held a spot near the top of that list for years.
Target is rolling out its most ambitious store overhaul in more than ten years, with plans to remodel over 130 locations and open 30 new stores across the country this year. The retailer is also putting money into supply chain technology upgrades to keep pace with how shoppers buy today.
Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
