“I always get competent friendly service and they go above and beyond to help. They price-match identical items and helped me replace a defective tool (air compressor) without hesitation. Highly recommend.”

“I am not a professional so I do not need tools that cost way too much. Harbor Freight items work for me and will for a majority of the people reading this. Give them a visit. You will not be disappointed.”

“Out of this world service. I'll never go anywhere else. They have anything you need and if not, they'll find it. Always friendly, so helpful. You literally feel like family. Small businesses like this are something you don't much find anymore.”

2935 N Sherman Ave, Madison WI 53704
“Super friendly staff, and not the kind trying to sell you on something you need, just genuinely helpful and courteous. They even carried a large item to my car while I had a very unhappy toddler in tow.”
3156 Milwaukee St, Madison WI 53714
“Our son ordered deck supplies from this place instead of a place like Home Depot. Having never put together a deck, we had more questions than the videos on YouTube could provide because every deck is different. After the Trex decking was dropped off, we thought we'd go back and ask the guy (Andy) a few questions. The lady in the office said he'd just headed out of town but Andy said he'd turn around. After some discussion, he said he'd swing by our place after his morning run, check up on our progress and add a few words of advice. He totally helped us out! Home Depot or Menards would never do that.”

“I've always gotten good service here. I ordered all of my building materials for a three season porch project, and the person at the lumber desk was friendly and made sure I had all the stuff I'd need for a standard project like that. As for the hardware store, they have all the hardware store stuff you'd expect, plus a surprisingly large selection of charcoal and grilling equipment. I've also special ordered some things and they showed up fast. This is my go-to place in Stoughton.”

“I rented a cargo van and had a fine experience with it, but especially awesome were Ava and the other staff who helped me! They were extremely patient with me when I got a bit flustered (cargo vans being new-ish to me). ALSO, I accidentally left my credit card there, and Mary went to the effort of calling my bank! And then securing my card till I got back the next day, when Wendy went in search of it. I am so thankful to all three of them: Ava, Mary, and Wendy!!!”

“For several years this was the go to place for my needs when I required electrical supplies that box stores might stock, but were not reasonably priced. Building or servicing a few local food trucks each year I think was the first reason for my repeated visits to Viking. Come the time when I am requiring a SO or similar type black cable. Or 30amp twist lock plugs and connectors. The box stores keep both on hand, but mark them high because they mostly serve to collect dust in the form of dead stock. So last week I needed 50' of 10/3 wire to build an extension cord for a friend that would handle 30amps and last forever. In short, this place is and has been my place to get the parts. But because the location happens to also be on the absolute opposite side of Madison from me it's not entirely convenient. Still I do the travel.”
