It's important to note that this is a small business and specialty shop. Therefore, is clearly stated on the website/front door/business hours that appointments are required. I noticed some negative comments on reviews and, honestly, I'm not sure what is so hard for people to figure out(?!) -- their appointment policy is clearly spelled out and in place for a reason, in order for them to provide their full attention when working with you on your project. Amy knows her product lines better than anyone else around and will give you expert advice regarding design, quality and best available options, whether you are seeking high-end or more mid-range/affordably-priced pieces. Amy and Spring each helped us immensely in selecting cabinet pulls, door handles/knobs, and coat hooks that would match our desired finish. They were both lovely to work with and so generous with their time. Hardware Studio is a clearly a Madison gem!”
“If you like old style lumber yards, this is your place! Brother and sister showed me around and answered questions. They were both McCormicks - 3rd generation! I picked up some sitka spruce. Beautiful wood. They are known for specialty boating wood (e.g. okoume plywood and sitka spruce) amongst the standard array of lumberyard materials. This lumberyard is WELL WORTH the visit!”

They were extremely patient with me when I got a bit flustered (cargo vans being new-ish to me). ALSO, I accidentally left my credit card there, and Mary went to the effort of calling my bank! And then securing my card till I got back the next day, when Wendy went in search of it. I am so thankful to all three of them: Ava, Mary, and Wendy!!!”

“For several years this was the go to place for my needs when I required electrical supplies that box stores might stock, but were not reasonably priced. Building or servicing a few local food trucks each year I think was the first reason for my repeated visits to Viking. Come the time when I am requiring a SO or similar type black cable. Or 30amp twist lock plugs and connectors. The box stores keep both on hand, but mark them high because they mostly serve to collect dust in the form of dead stock. So last week I needed 50' of 10/3 wire to build an extension cord for a friend that would handle 30amps and last forever. In short, this place is and has been my place to get the parts. But because the location happens to also be on the absolute opposite side of Madison from me it's not entirely convenient. Still I do the travel.”
“This is a long overdue THANK YOU to the appliance specialist Cathy Kruschke at this Home Depot who provided outstanding help with every step of our purchasing a new washer and and new dryer for a home we were moving to in another part of the state. First of all, she helped us with our selections as she was extremely knowledgeable about all the countless features of their washers and dryers and answered every question we could come up with, which really helped us with our decisions. Then she took excellent care of every little detail of the sale, as well as arranging for the delivery, and she offered additional helpful information that made that day and later on when we moved all so smooth. On top of that Cathy was really pleasant to work with which made the grueling task of purchasing big appliances much more enjoyable :) Now my husband and I are settled into our new home and extremely happy with the washer and dryer that Cathy assisted us with - and the delivery and setup provided from the Hudson WI Home Depot went perfectly well too, thanks to Cathy arranging it all.
