“5/23/25 was my first visit to your shop. There is an amazingly beautiful selection of crystals, rocks, and tons of other hands crafted items here. I like the wind-chime selection here. The ladies were so helpful and filled with knowledgeable info. So many great items here for reasonable prices. We will recommend this place and come back as often as we can. My daughter absolutely loved her purple carved dragon. Thank you for having such a calming atmosphere.”

“This is a great store with plenty of options for funny and sarcastic gifts. I like to buy cards there as they are funnier and less expensive than a card from most other stores. One of the co-owners helped us at checkout, and she was friendly and social. There are no other businesses like this store in the Madison area. It's definitely worth checking out!”

“Burnie's, both locations are just great, always full of treasures and surprises. When my son who is now 11, was 2, all he wanted in the world was a piece of amber with a bug in it. Eventually, off to Burnie's we went. He subsequently lost the item in a tragic, "I hide it from my friends in a trash can so nobody would take it" incident. Years later, on another magical Burnie's expedition, we mentioned the funny story, and Ben said he had an idea of how to fix the situation. There are very few places that can fix the injuries of childhood. Well played Burnie's, well played. Always a pleasure to visit your treasures.”

“Chris Keenan is an incredible artist! He took our ideas for wedding rings and created the most gorgeous matching set. The original stone in the setting was a beach stone. It shattered and Chris suggested we replace it with white jade. It is absolutely perfect!!! I would recommend Chris and all the folks at Studio Jewelers to anyone!”

“I’ve been to Katy’s multiple times over the past couple of years and have always had a positive experience, Katy and the other store clerks are very knowledgeable and helpful. Recently my partner and I got our wedding bands there and couldn’t be more excited! These rings are from a Diné (Navajo) designer in New Mexico called The Supersmiths who are known for their unique inlay work. My partner and I first discovered their designs at a Native jewelry store in Arizona and through their website we were able to find that we could purchase their work locally right here in Madison! If you’re looking for a gift or just to support indigenous art, Katy’s is your one stop shop ”

“Bombay Bazaar is a convenient spot for finding desi products, but the prices are quite high. Since there is no direct competition in the area, they tend to charge higher rates for all products. For those looking for an alternative, So Freshmart offers similar products at $2-$3 less than Bombay Bazaar.
One of the main reasons I visit is for fresh vegetables, which are available every Tuesday after 5 PM. However, the selection is limited and repetitive, with the same items appearing each week. I mainly go there for fresh green chilies, but if I find another store with better prices and a more welcoming atmosphere, I would likely switch.
Another inconvenience is that card payments are not accepted for purchases under $10, which can be frustrating for small purchases. Additionally, the store itself is very small, making it difficult to shop comfortably when there are a lot of people.
Overall, Bombay Bazaar serves a purpose, but the high prices, small space, and payment restrictions make it less appealing compared to other options in the area.”
