  1. Publix Super Market at Eastside Junction - 22031 US-72

    22031 US-72, Athens AL 35613

    4.6 Superb 238 reviews

“We stopped here because we were spending the night at a nearby hotel. We had a dog with us, so we were going to eat in the room. We got sandwiches and chicken strips from the deli and picked up some chips and snacks. The ladies in the deli were amazing. They made the sandwich exactly how we wanted. We got the falafel sub, which apparently isn't ordered that often. But they did a great job. The chicken strips were just right. I even had enough to share with the dog. The prices were reasonable and check out was quick. It was a good stop”

“Out of the MANY DG's I've been to in Athens, this one is on its game! Rarely do I find boxes stacked up all over the place waiting to be unpacked for us to purchase and the cashier was on her game by checking my receipt before I left because I used self-checkout and had several items that were not in a bag, large items, and most importantly to me, I didn't have a single problem using the App! The app saves me lots of money! Once my sister showed me how to use it.... I can't not use it now ??! Good job N. Jefferson!! I literally drive by Three Dollar generals to get to get to yours & one is less than a mile from my house! Kudos to the manager ??? & the employees ???!!”

“Today was my first time visiting the Dollar General off Hwy 251 near Athens, and I had the pleasure of meeting Catherine and Elizabeth. They were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home—like I’d been shopping there for years. It’s rare to find that kind of warmth and customer service these days. The store was also clean and well-organized. I’ll definitely be back. Shout out to Catherine and Elizabeth for making my first visit a great one! Thanks Queens! Tiffany H”

“We came from TN & just random found this store BUT had some awesome prices compared to what I pay at home. Got a nice watermelon for $6.99 & last one I bought at home was $14.99. I didn't expect it to be good but it was super sweet. Wright bacon I caught on sale $8.99 which I pay $14 for exact same pack. Some stuff isn't any cheaper you just have to watch but so many deals & I've cream selections that aren't even on shelves at home. We also had a very fun friendly cashier who wanted to go home with us when she saw all of our meat purchases. We will definitely be making the trip back down to get more. 👍”

Being that this particular DG is one I frequently visit, I was able to find everything fairly quickly. I do love to take a quick peak at all of the home decor items that are for year round & seasonal. Sometimes I can find the perfect little addition to a room in my home while I'm there.”

Things are a little bit higher at Dollar General for the name brand items than at WalMart, but you’re paying for the convenience. I’m really glad they recently remodeled and added the small fresh food section of fruits and vegetables also.”
