“Excellent experience minus the service and wait time at the restaurant downstairs. The food was good but the service was abysmal. It took an hour to get two to-go burgers during my last stay.”

“When I say the staff at Ross Bridge is exceptional, I genuinely mean it. The friendships I built in just one week were remarkable. I’ve never encountered such accommodating and kind individuals at a resort. From Danielle, James, and Warren at the front desk to Mod and Teddy in concierge, and Malina in HR, along with Camila and Carla at Brocks—each of them truly deserves a raise. During my week there, these individuals truly changed my life for the better. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to know each of them.”

“This hotel was very interesting! It was located in the heart of Birmingham, and appeared to be an old bank, similar to some other hotels I stayed at previously. The service was very great, the staff all were very kind. There were only a few issues to be noted. First of all, they were out of provided body wash, and the glasses in the room were dirty. Additionally, two of the elevators were broken, so we had to utilize the service elevator and the elevator to the bar, both of which had a lot of traffic. Finally, the man next door was very noisy, signifying that the walls were relatively thin. Other than that, I had a great experience at this hotel, and would definitely recommend it!

ADDING TO THIS: The elevator that lead to the bar was very cool!”

“Great stay in Birmingham! We had a one night midweek getaway and our suite was wonderful. We stayed in suite 8 and slept inside the turret. All the creature comforts were attended too and everything was as expected for a stay in a guest house. Thank you for easy instructions and booking!”

“We have been staying here for years. We visit UAB often for my spouse's medical appointments and this is the most convenient location with friendly staff, lots of local & chain restaurants nearby along with entertainment venues. The rooms are always nice & clean with a great courtyard. The parking isn't the pain some have alluded to, it's behind the hotel & is gated for safety you even have to use your key for elevator service for extra security. The breakfast is included & usually great and there's also a nighttime bar. All in all for your $ it's 1 of the best options in downtown Birmingham especially located near 5 points!”

“Food and drinks: Breakfast was good, but was not included unfortunately. $22 for the buffet

Noteworthy details: Ice machine on my floor and 2 others were not working. Had to go to another floor for ice.”

“Upon our check-in, I was warmly welcomed by Kevin, who gladly changed our room to a handicap room, by rearranging things to make that happen. Our 2-day stay was most pleasant, as we found the room to be spacious. Breakfast on both days was fabulous. You’ll find the breakfast area large, not cramped, like I have found on other hotel stays. Employees are helpful every time that we needed assistance. Fortunately, this hotel is only a few minutes drive from our events. Many stars!”

“The lady who did breakfast service for us needed a huge attitude adjustment. It was our first morning there, and we didn't know how their breakfast worked. She was completely rude. Now, everyone at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Now we were there 4 days, three nights, and not once was our room cleaned. I had to go ask for fresh towels because no one day on day two to clean. We booked a 2 queen size bedroom and got two full-size beds, a big difference when its two grown adults are sleeping in one. Other than that, the place was beautiful and in a nice location. Would consider staying there again.

Rooms: Decent size. But we didn't get the bed size we booked.

Food and drinks: There is plenty of place to eat nearby.”

“The service here is top notch. We did have one issue with our heat not working and they were at our door faster than fast. It was fixed and we had no further issues. We were in town for a wedding and many of the wedding guests stayed there. We we able to meet up for free HOT breakfast on the 8th floor. They had danishes, eggs, sausage, grits, biscuits and sausage gravy to name a few things. It was It was good, help-yourself food. The building is old and has a lot of history. We picked up a book at CVS called Haunted Birmingham, and The Tutwiler is included. It is walking distance to the Birmingham Museum of Art (BMA). It's free to enjoy, but they do ask for a $5 donation. The valet service was nice because it is hard to park downtown. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.”

“It was weird that parking required permit decal yet there was no other business close to the hotel. Restaurant need a cook and better food selection. Soup (watery), fries (cold), turkey sandwich bread was hard/old, and meat and sandwich filling was scarce.”

“DoubleTree is five-star all the way. From the moment you walk into the lobby—complete with their legendary signature aroma—you can tell they pay attention to details. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and exceptionally clean, and the amenities are thoughtfully set up for every type of traveler, whether you’re here for business or leisure. Great experience from start to finish, and I’d absolutely stay here again.”

“Cool old hotel in the heart of downtown. Loved my stay, and trust me this is not an average hotel restaurant. I was there 3 nights and ate in the restaurant 6 times. 5 star dining for sure.”

“This hotel has been freshly remodeled, clean, with a good price. Very close to I 65. The owners and staff ate very friendly and accommodating. The only issue that I experienced was that you can hear everything happening in the hallway, doors slamming and vacuuming. The other customers weren't rowdy and I didn't have an issue hearing others or tv's, only hallway activities.

Overall, great place for the price”

“Rooms: The rooms are quite beautiful and comfortable, and get clean sheet and pillow every time.

Nearby activities: There's swimming pool,a workout room and conference area.

Noteworthy details: Everything is very nice and beautifully laid out. There's a mini fridge in there. There's also plenty of towels, and just for safety I usually check for bed bugs and seems like the mattress are pretty nice and new.”

“Wonderful location, UNBELIEVABLE treatment by Debra and Adeeka (?). Spaciously clean rooms, comfortable beds, cold AC, delicious breakfast, plenty of parking, convenient location and such a safe feeling. The bathtub does need attention yet the shower pressure is amazing!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location and will stay here every time we're back in the area!!!”

“This place is great for what it is— an easy airport hotel. Angel was great at getting us checked in and had a super great attitude for the middle of the night! In the morning Ashley was at the front desk with a smile and some toothpaste for me! Really friendly staff. Rooms acceptable as well. If I’m in Birmingham again this will be my airport hotel for sure.”

“Attached to a Hilton Garden Inn. Across from UAB medical center. Ok bar and light fare restaurant. 15 bucks to park. Right next to baseball stadium. I wouldn't walk around this area at night. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

“The television volume was low even when maxed out but the staff came immediately to resolve the problem. The room was adequate for the price in Birmingham. Not the most modern or upscaled but inexpensive.”

“Always takes well care of me being handicapped veteran when arrive. Hilton brands nationwide always nice to me and service dog when arrive. Back for another stay, always professional and courteous. Kept my room open even though stay in hospital for a period while in reserved room. Came back room was cleaned everything neat as left. Recommend stay at any Hilton while on your trips as I stay U.S A. wide during my travels; no matter where stay Hilton has always been super professional, and made accomodations simple for my needs.
All you have do is ask, so many don't ask them then they get upset.”

“Everything you would expect. Housekeeping had call outs and I feel they did an excellent job doing the best they could, as my room didn't say show anything was rushed. Front desk did great trying to accommodate everyone(including the very rude ones).”

“La Quinta in Hoover is pet friendly, very clean, and a great location for area sightseeing. The breakfast room is cheerful and immaculate. Would have given 5-star for the room, which was clean and quiet, but the toilet flush didn't work. This should have been discovered and maintained before we arrived. Though inconvenient when our room was on the 2nd floor, fortunately there are restrooms on the main level.”

“The building is old, needs touching up, but other than that its good, we had the queen suite, had a stove, refrigerator, etc and it's was very clean, the staff is very polite and helpful, just no pool lol but to me one of the best parts is it's in a secluded area and CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!!!! wal mart 6 mins away, the mall 20 mins away, the other mall 20 mins away, pappadeaux, perry steak house, dream land bbq, arby, liquor store, Winn Dixie, like said everything”

“I’ve stayed here twice in the last few months and have enjoyed the convenient location and friendly staff each time. Synethia at the front desk is always very friendly and accommodating and I was fortunate to meet the GM, Nicole during my most recent stay and she is amazing! Thank you both for the wonderful service!!”

“The hotel was quiet and clean. Unfortunately, the elevators were out of order. Despite having the repair guys out, it was not fixed during our stay. The stairs were very steep and difficult to navigate. I was impressed that they kept all the breakfast selections available despite having 2 busses of teenage boy athletes spending the night.”

“The late night front desk agent was very kind and helpful. Rooms were clean and quiet and the lobby smelled like Christmas trees. Breakfast was nice. Didn't use the pool but it looked clean and pretty.”
