“Excellent experience minus the service and wait time at the restaurant downstairs. The food was good but the service was abysmal. It took an hour to get two to-go burgers during my last stay.”

“When I say the staff at Ross Bridge is exceptional, I genuinely mean it. The friendships I built in just one week were remarkable. I’ve never encountered such accommodating and kind individuals at a resort. From Danielle, James, and Warren at the front desk to Mod and Teddy in concierge, and Malina in HR, along with Camila and Carla at Brocks—each of them truly deserves a raise. During my week there, these individuals truly changed my life for the better. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to know each of them.”

“This hotel was very interesting! It was located in the heart of Birmingham, and appeared to be an old bank, similar to some other hotels I stayed at previously. The service was very great, the staff all were very kind. There were only a few issues to be noted. First of all, they were out of provided body wash, and the glasses in the room were dirty. Additionally, two of the elevators were broken, so we had to utilize the service elevator and the elevator to the bar, both of which had a lot of traffic. Finally, the man next door was very noisy, signifying that the walls were relatively thin. Other than that, I had a great experience at this hotel, and would definitely recommend it!

ADDING TO THIS: The elevator that lead to the bar was very cool!”

“This mansion takes you back in time for real. I appreciate the owner attention to details and preserve the old with a touch of modern needs: frim house decor to outside gazebo. The breakfast is just lovely presented, sit down and you'll be served. They do cater dietary needs.

Rooms: Rooms are just as described and there's historic facts you can read about and pictures all over. You can feel a bit Scarlett O'Hara -ish”

“Food and drinks: Breakfast was good, but was not included unfortunately. $22 for the buffet

Noteworthy details: Ice machine on my floor and 2 others were not working. Had to go to another floor for ice.”

“The lady who did breakfast service for us needed a huge attitude adjustment. It was our first morning there, and we didn't know how their breakfast worked. She was completely rude. Now, everyone at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Now we were there 4 days, three nights, and not once was our room cleaned. I had to go ask for fresh towels because no one day on day two to clean. We booked a 2 queen size bedroom and got two full-size beds, a big difference when its two grown adults are sleeping in one. Other than that, the place was beautiful and in a nice location. Would consider staying there again.

Rooms: Decent size. But we didn't get the bed size we booked.

Food and drinks: There is plenty of place to eat nearby.”

“The service here is top notch. We did have one issue with our heat not working and they were at our door faster than fast. It was fixed and we had no further issues. We were in town for a wedding and many of the wedding guests stayed there. We we able to meet up for free HOT breakfast on the 8th floor. They had danishes, eggs, sausage, grits, biscuits and sausage gravy to name a few things. It was It was good, help-yourself food. The building is old and has a lot of history. We picked up a book at CVS called Haunted Birmingham, and The Tutwiler is included. It is walking distance to the Birmingham Museum of Art (BMA). It's free to enjoy, but they do ask for a $5 donation. The valet service was nice because it is hard to park downtown. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.”

“For a little more, you truly have a great experience and hotel stay. We opted to stay here overnight on a quick getaway, and it was worth it. Extremely clean, modern, and great space and location. The room was large and had a nice galley full kitchen. We had a mini cooler and enjoyed snacks and a late bite in our room. GrubHub has free delivery for the Homewood guests. Walking distance to a few businesses and restaurants if you do go out. Excellent breakfast - above and beyond! Hot items and cold items - but elevated. Our Sunday options included breakfast taco bar, overnight oats, or chia seed overnight "oats" with a toppings bar. Waffle maker, cereal, yogurts, juice, coffee, and American breakfast - eggs, toast, and more. On Wednesday evenings, they have an evening reception in the lobby for those guests staying more extended time. Saw a notice for a local shuttle M-F (5 mile radius) for the daytime. Great option for staying local. We are keeping this on our next stay list bc the customer service, quality, and amenities were really nice - don't forget your bathing suit for the small but nice indoor pool. Or enjoy sitting on the patio near the fire pit or grills on-site. Overall, it is just phenomenal to enjoy!”

“Rooms: The rooms are quite beautiful and comfortable, and get clean sheet and pillow every time.

Nearby activities: There's swimming pool,a workout room and conference area.

Noteworthy details: Everything is very nice and beautifully laid out. There's a mini fridge in there. There's also plenty of towels, and just for safety I usually check for bed bugs and seems like the mattress are pretty nice and new.”

“Cool old hotel in the heart of downtown. Loved my stay, and trust me this is not an average hotel restaurant. I was there 3 nights and ate in the restaurant 6 times. 5 star dining for sure.”

“Wonderful location, UNBELIEVABLE treatment by Debra and Adeeka (?). Spaciously clean rooms, comfortable beds, cold AC, delicious breakfast, plenty of parking, convenient location and such a safe feeling. The bathtub does need attention yet the shower pressure is amazing!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location and will stay here every time we're back in the area!!!”

“Attached to a Hilton Garden Inn. Across from UAB medical center. Ok bar and light fare restaurant. 15 bucks to park. Right next to baseball stadium. I wouldn't walk around this area at night. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

“We had just left a Bands of America contest and we were exhausted. We had rooms reserved. The staff were great, the rooms were really nice and the breakfast was equally good. The only issue was parking. This would not be a problem for regular customers with regular vehicles. This was completely on us. The parking lot is on the smaller side and we had big trucks with big trailers. So we had a hard time getting them in, getting them parked, and worse getting them out. So I only mention this as a caution to others that may be in the same situation. Leaving these vehicles parked somewhere else is not an option due to their contents.
But I would definitely stay here again if we were in smaller vehicles with no trailers. Now if we only had one or two we may still go here. We had seven total vehicles all with trailers. Again, not their fault. Thanks to the staff. Appreciate what you do.

Rooms: Rooms were nice, clean, and the A/C worked great.

Safety: The area feels safe and you don't feel like you have to be overly concerned. The condition of the hotel makes you feel relaxed as well.

Food and drinks: We had the breakfast and it was really good. They do a really good job with it.
I just wish the room was a little bigger and had a more open feel. It did get crowded and that made it loud. Hard to have a conversation. Which is apart of most peoples breakfast time in a hotel. I would assume it not that way everyday.

Noteworthy details: Parking is tight if your traveling with a group that has trucks with big trailers. We had seven big box trucks each with big enclosed trailers. That's just a word of caution. Not really on them.”

“Great hotel with good breakfast. There is an AMC movie theater right behind hotel. Also there is a large Shopping Center with Publix grocery store, Hobby Lobby, Dick's Sporting Goods and restaurants. Sweet Frog ice cream! ?

Rooms: Nice and clean.

Nearby activities: Shopping Centet and restaurants.

Safety: I felt safe there.

Walkability: Half mile of walking to stores and restaurants.

Food and drinks: Plenty to choose from.

Noteworthy details: The hotel has a nice swimming pool.”

“My go-to place to stay when in Birmingham. It's in the hood, but that makes it even better to know that IHG has not abandoned the community. The front desk staff is really nice at all times”

“Everything you would expect. Housekeeping had call outs and I feel they did an excellent job doing the best they could, as my room didn't say show anything was rushed. Front desk did great trying to accommodate everyone(including the very rude ones).”

“The television volume was low even when maxed out but the staff came immediately to resolve the problem. The room was adequate for the price in Birmingham. Not the most modern or upscaled but inexpensive.”

“The building is old, needs touching up, but other than that its good, we had the queen suite, had a stove, refrigerator, etc and it's was very clean, the staff is very polite and helpful, just no pool lol but to me one of the best parts is it's in a secluded area and CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!!!! wal mart 6 mins away, the mall 20 mins away, the other mall 20 mins away, pappadeaux, perry steak house, dream land bbq, arby, liquor store, Winn Dixie, like said everything”

“I am not sure why this hotel got so many bad reviews but the location and the room that we stayed in was excellent. We stayed in Room 112 and the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was hot. I also did not see one bug. Even the outside breezeway was clean. Also the freezer/fridge combo was so cold. So don’t be alarmed by the bad reviews. I was skeptical at first myself but upon entering the room my opinion changed. So give it a try. Thanks Tourway Inn for your service. Will stay again if we are back in the area.”

“Hotel is in a great area, lots of food options within walking distance. Friendly service, check in was a breeze. King size suites are generously spacious. Only small thing to note was the bathroom needed a little TLC in the shower corners, but nothing that made me feel negative.”

“First, I would like to thank Faith, at check in for making the process so smooth and quick. Faith, is very professional and polite being my first stay and coming in from out of town she made my experience very pleasant. Now Ms. Brenda aka Debo from Friday on the other hand was rude and thinks this is her home instead of her employer. My husband and I came to stay because we went to a concert. When we returned to the hotel on Thursday night. This lady had all the entrances locked. Watched us trying to use the key card at the back entrance and walked off. We had to come around to the front and knock on the window so she could let us in. Once in she had an attitude like she was mad we came back to the hotel at 11:30p.m. Told us we reek of marijuana and we needed to go out the building to air out! Then threated us by saying "Ohhh I'm going to make a note of this on your room..because if it smells like marijuana I'm going to charge your card additional fees". This lady is a menace and needs to be fired asap too unprofessional. My encounter alone is why I would never stay here again. Nice and clean hotel hot breakfast as well. Just don't rub ole Brenda the wrong way. Seem like she needed some marijuana to calm down.

“"I stayed at this hotel while visiting my sister, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel itself was nice and clean, which I really appreciated. However, I was disappointed by the wait time at the bar/restaurant. I had to wait over 10 minutes for the cook and bartender, who were nowhere to be found—definitely not the level of professionalism I expected.

On a brighter note, the front desk staff was fantastic. Ms. Kay, in particular, stood out with her southern hospitality, making me feel right at home. I will definitely be returning, thanks to her warm and welcoming demeanor!"”
