Fort Payne Animal Hospital
6050 Gault Ave N, Fort PayneAll 3 of my dogs had a blast being boarded at Fort Payne Animal hospital. They drag me from the car to see the Vet techs and Dr Baker. I drive 160 miles to go there as I moved to Huntsville. Great staff and very fair.

Fort Payne Veterinary Center
1855 Industrial Ln SW, Fort PayneMy black lab Trigger was just days away from turning 14. We had noticed in the past year how he was struggling with his hips to move around, it didnt stop him though. After Christmas we noticed how he wasn't eating, even refusing treats. We knew something was wrong so I called on Friday and made an appointment with his regular vet for a Monday appointment.
Woke up Saturday to him starting to have seizures. I called around to find an emergency vet to take him to. Unbeknownst to me, I ended up at the wrong place from which I called. Luckily though that even though this place was actually closed, there were staff there doing a blood transfusion on another patient/animal.
I walked in and told them my situation and they said they would help us. I knew we were going to have to put him down. The signs were all there. The vet said to just stay out in our car with him, and he would come out when it was time. He said there was no need to try to move hom and make him uncomfortable.
The vet, which I don't remember his name, and staff were so very helpful. Trigger didnt even attempt to get out of the vehicle when we opened the door. He just laid there looking around.
By the time my husband got there, Trigger had already had 4 more seizures. The staff was very helpful and kind. Coming out to give us a blanket and towel and ask if we or he needed anything.
This doctor is an angel, for his care, patience, kindness, and understanding was beyond belief. He simply could have turned us away and not helped us beings that they weren't really open fir business.
Im glad we were able to put our boy down in a peaceful way, there was no way he would have made it to the Monday appointment.
This doctor has hidden angel wings, and am very thankful for his help in our time of need. Thank you and your staff for your help and kindness.

Rock Creek Bloodhounds
7145 Co Rd 44, Fort PayneA few months ago I had the pleasure of dealing with Rock Creek Bloodhounds to purchase a puppy to train as a Police tracking K9. I cannot recommend them highly enough! From the moment I contacted them, their passion for breeding healthy, well-tempered dogs was evident.
After 3 months of extensive training she is now a certified tracking dog at just 6 months old! This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about the quality of breeding, training, and care provided by the breeder. The puppy was not only well socialized but also exhibited an impressive natural instinct for tracking from an early age.
If you’re looking for a top-notch bloodhound with exceptional tracking abilities, look no further! This breeder has set the standard for excellence, and we are beyond grateful!

Dekalb County Animal Adoption Center
2601 Jordan Rd SW, Fort PayneWe volunteered there.
We got to play with the cats and kittens, walk and play with the dogs, and help clean their cages.
It was very loud in the dogs' room, I suggest bringing ear plugs for that area.
The cat and kitten room was a bit stinky, but loads of fun. Kittens climb all over you and the cats come and lay in your lap for pettings.
The dogs all want your attention and love. We'd walk them to the play area and throw the toys around. Some liked to play fetch, some liked to play tag, all loved you like a dog does.
It was a good day.
