“I’ve shopped here on numerous occasions. When shopping there you have to remember that they don’t have the selection that larger retailers have. I love their meat selection and prices.”
“BEST place to buy meats and other perishable foods that are simply fresh and delicious. There are also non-perishable products. Prices are most competitive. Unlike other stores like Publix, Southern Market doesn’t mix beef from multiple cows; ground beef is one cow, it’s 80/20, so pure and delicious. Owners are so nice, as are their staff. Don’t forget their biscuits that are the BEST I’ve had, other than mom’s !”

“I've been going in and out of this store and their affiliate store in Mt. Olive for over 20 years. Their stores are always clean, organized, and fully stocked. No exceptions. Mike and his wife, who i affectionately call 'Momma' have always treated everyone fair and like family. You'd be hard pressed to find a more down home country store in north Jefferson County.”
“Staff is always very nice, usually not a long line. Switched from another big name pharmacy in Gardendale. Has been night and day difference. No drive-through, however that can't be helped because of location. Competitive on pricing if not using insurance or buying rx's for pet.”

I understand your short staffed, then you should have had a guy in there running it. Not that a girl can't but it's not very safe in this day and age. And if your short-staffed you shouldn't be open in the first place”
“I love all Dollar Generals so its hard to single one out. I like the fact that there's always one in almost any direction I turn but mainly because they've got a little bit of anything and everything which is obviously good to know that you never have to drive far to find one!!”
“Yelp! Had to stop by. Gardendale so organized and stocked p up. But, nobody knows where stuff has been pot. You have mixed and mangled these items so, I have no idea where stuff is. But, you neat and stocked up, that's all that matters! Loves this WalMart!!!!”
“I gave this a 4 ⭐rather than 5 because there seems to be an enormous amount of stock waiting to be put out & boxes are EVERYWHERE! The staff is AMAZING! They are the nicest of any of the Dollar General Stores locally around in my opinion. I just hope they get the couple of employees there some help soon! I WILL continue to patron this location as I feel like it deserves it! It's a clean Store, striving for excellence with need of more employees!! So please stop by and do business with them if you get a chance!! They have awesome Home Decor that's of really great quality!!”
“I love Walmart! The only problems I ever have is the check out process. It always takes forever. I really really wish that Walmart would go back to being open 24 hrs. I always loved to shop at 2 or 3 am when the store is virtually empty.”

“Great store. Love the bakery! Recently ordered cupcakes and a tres leches cake for my daughter's 13th birthday. Chef's kiss and so beautiful!! I couldn't be more pleased. My daughter was very happy and the cake was exactly what she wanted. Other family members have ordered cakes for different occasions and never disappointed. Highly recommend!!”
