“I took my 16yo son to the Volcom Market Mall location today and we had EXCEPTIONAL customer service from Mitch. Being in retail myself, I 100% appreciate someone who is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and truly enjoys what they do. Mitch is in his element and was incredible at helping us pull a new wardrobe full of clothes. At one point my son said that Volcom needs to pay him more because he literally loved every piece Mitch brought him. Towards the end of our shop, Mitch was multi-tasking helping another customer and answering the phone. He made it look effortless and still managed to continue to help us. Thank you so much Mitch!!!”

I’m updating my review from 2 stars to 4 stars because credit where credit is due — the team here has clearly worked hard to make this a better experience overall. The store is more organized, the process feels smoother, and interactions have improved compared to the past.
I’ll be upfront about how I use Once Upon A Child: I primarily bring items my kids have outgrown that are still in great shape, and things I don’t have the time or energy to sell myself. For that purpose, this place is useful.
That said, it’s important to proceed with realistic expectations. Even if you bring in brand-new items with tags and a receipt, you should not expect a meaningful return. Those $100 sneakers you grabbed early on sale for your child? You’ll likely still be offered $2–$4. That’s just the model — not a reflection of condition or original value.
Over time, we’ve made it our tradition to work with Once Upon A Child and Goodwill together — selling what makes sense and donating or recycling the rest. It feels good to keep items out of the landfill and pass them along to other families who can use them.
Use this store wisely, and it can absolutely be part of a practical, feel-good system. Overall, real improvement, and I appreciate the effort that’s gone into making it better.”
