“Came to sobeys to pick up a cake for my child aunt & I also picked up an oreo cake and they are sooo good.
If anyone likes cake trust and believe u will not be disappointed.”
“Always the best priced produce around. Sometimes the selection isn’t as good as a normal grocery store and we wait until the weekend for the specials. Shipping carts are few and far between so bring a bag!”
“Visited this place for the first time today and was greeted, helped and assisted. I grabbed lunch as well, they served hot food. The jollof and chicken were delicious. Happy I found somewhere for my African groceries!!”
“I really enjoy the meat pies and dumplings. They make a great quick and easy meal. They use a wide variety of unique and local ingredients, and I appreciate the unique products.”
“Great locally owned business. The young man (Mohammad?) is always super friendly and helpful. They carry lots of variety of items and always have interesting imported items. For the reviews complaining about products being 1$ more here (which isn’t necessarily true), wouldn’t you prefer to spend the extra dollar to support a local small business than give it to a giant corporation?”
“New Dead Bazar is my go-to spot for all meat requirements. The quality is always top-notch, and they offer a fantastic variety of options to choose from. Whether I’m looking for fresh cuts or something special, they consistently deliver. If you’re looking for the best in town, this is definitely the place to visit for all your meat needs!”
“I finally found Onigiri in Edmonton! And it tastes just like I remember. Labeled Kimbap though, so more likely to be a Korean version of my favourite Japanese snack. Basically a riceball stuffed with tunasalad mixture perfectly packaged with nori (seaweed)kept crisp until you carefully open the package. Follow the instructions! I spotted lots of other delicious Asian food products as I wandered through the store (perhaps similar to T&T Supermarket?) And would love to go back and try their Ramen stall one day!”
“An absolute YES! Amazing customer service, kind and engages with all customers. What a Gem, i live so far from the store but i will always make my journey there. Betsy the other SA shop is closer but i will never set foot there again, horrible bunch and zero customer etiquette, and impatient with customers. Thank God i found Serengeti”
“Very rude and too loud over the phone. Asked about a product and the price for it. All I said after is that I’ve seen it cheaper at other locations that I’ve been to, and the lady over the phone told me rudely to go there then and hung up after. Talk about disrespectful.
Owner’s apologetic and nice with the response. I appreciate it. Changed the review to a 5.”
“Got into a motorcycle accident just outside this shop a few days ago, the owners immediately came to check on me and my passenger and brought us a bottle of water for free, they then allowed me to use thier camera so that I could have video footage of the accident. Very grateful for the help they provided”

“Such a perfect stop for all kind of necessary stuff….they carry huge variety of products and even the owner is very friendly and cooperative….if you are live in downtown I highly recommend this place….”
“I just tried their restaurant… My struggle for over 1year and half has been to find an African restaurant that beats homemade meals. I’ve finally found it and I’m so glad ! I ordered their grilled fish and it’s the best I’ve had in a long timeee (took it with brown rice). The qty and price are reasonable. Eating outside just begins to make sense for me now lol. I can’t wait to try the rest ?
The super market food selection is also very diverse. I’m glad to have discovered them.”
“Sayah’s the best halal family owned fresh food and grocery store.
Their halal meats are so fresh and greatly priced.
We buy their grape leaf appy and zeit w/ zaatar and cheese all the time and it’s always 10/10.
Customer service is super friendly too! You won’t regret stopping by.
Also, Sayah’s might be one of the only places (close by) where you can get bottled nectar juices!!”

“Had exactly what I wanted , salt free nuts. Price is much cheaper than supermarket. Selection of foods was great. Aisles are wide, and you can bring reusable containers.”
“✨This is an amazing food store✨ We visited here last week to check turkey prices and were very impressed with the price and quality of the meat section. The turkey prices were the best bar none and they had prime rib roasts for the best price I have seen in a long time. Other shoppers had also done their homework and were taking advantage of the great beef and turkey prices and stocking up. The Co-op has a great look to it's store which has a really good vibe going. The assortment was very very good with all the pork and chicken as well. Fantastic selection of dry goods as well. We found some different pastas that we just can't wait to try. Several different brand names with a great deal of local producers and businesses being supported. We are defiantly shopping ??️ more here. We grabbed a Co-op number and are now members to share in the cooperative ??”
“This place is so home-y! I loved walking in here for the first time. There are a bunch of small gems you can't find at other grocery stores, and the atmosphere here don't feel sterile and cold. It's like walking into a family farmers market. Really comforting and inviting. Selection is great, prices are better than Safeway (ironically since they're owned by the same company technically) and it was easy to find what I needed. It's a bit of a drive but honestly I'm considering doing it just because it was way more relaxing to shop here!”

“Absolute magic for Brits missing a taste of home! Amazing range of stock; even have M&S and Thorntons products. I was served by the loveliest lady too— Connie I think? Prices I have found are also the best in the city. Highly recommend a visit! ??????♂️??️??”
“We needed a lunch catered for a 200 person event at work. We went with the Freson Bros taco bar option. Freson Bros gave us numerous options for people with dietary restrictions (including multiple gluten free and dairy free options). Everyone LOVED the food and there was more than enough for all in attendance. The staff at Freson was FANTASTIC to work with and went above and beyond in all of my interactions with them.
Following the lunch, we had a number of attendees ask us who the caterers were. In addition, the staff at the meeting venue were extremely impressed with Freson and told us they would recommend them for other rentals that require catering.
All in all, very highly recommended. We will certainly use them again if the opportunity arises!”
“A nice small grocery store, nearby the residence. Anything when I need in emergency this place has it and the owners are very sweet. As soon as you enter they welcome and assist us with the purchase. All in all, never let me down.”
“Love me some Sobeys! Don't you just LOVE their bakery section? My favorite is fresh baked tray buns, with some creamy Gouda cheese and either toupee ham or Grandpa ham from the deli.....yummmmm...great, now I am craving my favorite little lunch sandwiches again!”
“Very clean, friendly staff, big with good selection, and tasty in-house cafeteria. Today an employee stocking shelves was smiling and asking about our baby, then demanded to give her a $5 bill. We tried to refuse, but he insisted. Absolutely heartwarming and unforgettable experience.”
“I'm so happy I found this place! ? The treats from the Poco Loco bakery inside the store are so damn good! When I found out I had to cut sugar and gluten out of my diet I was absolutely heartbroken. But let me tell you... you can get substitutes that taste just as good to satisfy your sugar cravings!!! Sugar Free and More had everything I was looking for and more!”
“Good prices, good selection of western and asian products. Only issue is, some aisles, namely in the noodle section, there is a distinct very intense smell of mice feces, and of course, lots of mice feces on the shelves visible too.”

“Good stock! Has everything you want + more. Lots of Alberta/Edmonton brewing companies which I really appreciate. I accidentally dropped my bottle after purchasing and they were so kind about it and helped me out so much. Workers are nice and ready to chat!”
“Seems a bit in transition. Pizza is rarely on, yet highly advertised. City of Edmonton wants to move the postal outlet. Neighborhood doesn't seem to agree and has quite the petition going.”
“Great service and verity.
Sale items are a great value.
Other prices are a bit high.
There are no big bags of bacon bits. ?
No strawberry shortcake bread is available without pre- ordering. ??”
“My wife and I went to this store and the young man helped us with all our Questions . He was very friendly and helpful. We're from Saskatchewan so I'll have to put a online order. The cheddar chips and the fruit loop style cereal are very good .”
“Owner of the convienance store is such a nice understanding and non judgemental personality. It's become my nabour-hood quick stop store that makes those times when you don't have nor want to go to a large groceries store and wait in line. Aswell the variety of his selection is quickly becoming better by the month. Thanks man I appreciate the friendship we have grown together. Keep up the hard work.”
“This is the primary grocery store I shop at. Have been shopping here regularly for the past 6 years. Great store and staff. Wonderful bakery, produce and meat departments. Great cashiers. Friendly and always very attentive to packing. Truly is the best grocery store in Edmonton. Clean, well stocked and great lay out. Ronnie, Shirley and Amanda are remarkable cashiers. Keep up the good work.”
“Love this store... all the Arabian and Mediterranean food and desserts you will ever want.
Nicest staff.... always.
Cool little gas bar with unbeatable pricing”
