“Came to sobeys to pick up a cake for my child aunt & I also picked up an oreo cake and they are sooo good.
If anyone likes cake trust and believe u will not be disappointed.”
“Very neatly kept store.
Gave us a pineapple for free at the checkout !
Freindly staff too.
Kind of a small town feeling in there, a very good experience.
Thank you to the staff.
Cheers!”
“Visited this place for the first time today and was greeted, helped and assisted. I grabbed lunch as well, they served hot food. The jollof and chicken were delicious. Happy I found somewhere for my African groceries!!”
“I really enjoy the meat pies and dumplings. They make a great quick and easy meal. They use a wide variety of unique and local ingredients, and I appreciate the unique products.”
“New Dead Bazar is my go-to spot for all meat requirements. The quality is always top-notch, and they offer a fantastic variety of options to choose from. Whether I’m looking for fresh cuts or something special, they consistently deliver. If you’re looking for the best in town, this is definitely the place to visit for all your meat needs!”
“An absolute YES! Amazing customer service, kind and engages with all customers. What a Gem, i live so far from the store but i will always make my journey there. Betsy the other SA shop is closer but i will never set foot there again, horrible bunch and zero customer etiquette, and impatient with customers. Thank God i found Serengeti”
“Best Store in the neighbourhood. Very Community minded!! Best Donairs in the Area! The Pizza slices are awesome & deal's on pizza right now!! 2slices & Pop for $7.00. GREAT VALUE!!! TRY THE CHICKEN, BETT THAN KFC!!!”
“I came here to buy some vapes.
And she is soooooo knowledgable about vapes and everything else! She has a very nice smile to go along with good customer service.- very polite staff.”
“Very rude and too loud over the phone. Asked about a product and the price for it. All I said after is that I’ve seen it cheaper at other locations that I’ve been to, and the lady over the phone told me rudely to go there then and hung up after. Talk about disrespectful.
Owner’s apologetic and nice with the response. I appreciate it. Changed the review to a 5.”

“Such a perfect stop for all kind of necessary stuff….they carry huge variety of products and even the owner is very friendly and cooperative….if you are live in downtown I highly recommend this place….”
“I’ve had great experiences both times I’ve gone, I’m glad that someone recommended me to check it out!
Pretty excited to discover the skin care and cosmetic department, and the staff there is super helpful. Thank you so much!!! Definitely will be back☺️”
“Sayah’s the best halal family owned fresh food and grocery store.
Their halal meats are so fresh and greatly priced.
We buy their grape leaf appy and zeit w/ zaatar and cheese all the time and it’s always 10/10.
Customer service is super friendly too! You won’t regret stopping by.
Also, Sayah’s might be one of the only places (close by) where you can get bottled nectar juices!!”
“I just tried their restaurant… My struggle for over 1year and half has been to find an African restaurant that beats homemade meals. I’ve finally found it and I’m so glad ! I ordered their grilled fish and it’s the best I’ve had in a long timeee (took it with brown rice). The qty and price are reasonable. Eating outside just begins to make sense for me now lol. I can’t wait to try the rest ?
The super market food selection is also very diverse. I’m glad to have discovered them.”
“There's just no place like it!
Their butcher shop is the only place to make your purchases, excellent service and quality.
Many varieties of sourdough bread that are very tasty.
Great place to have meals, eat in or take out, with an excellent variety of ready to eat food.”
“Located right in the heart of downtown Chinatown. There are fresh produce, dairy products, spices, beans, frozen meat, there are butcher shops with hala option. There are Chinese BBQ restaurant and Chinese take-out inside.”

“This place is so home-y! I loved walking in here for the first time. There are a bunch of small gems you can't find at other grocery stores, and the atmosphere here don't feel sterile and cold. It's like walking into a family farmers market. Really comforting and inviting. Selection is great, prices are better than Safeway (ironically since they're owned by the same company technically) and it was easy to find what I needed. It's a bit of a drive but honestly I'm considering doing it just because it was way more relaxing to shop here!”
“✨This is an amazing food store✨ We visited here last week to check turkey prices and were very impressed with the price and quality of the meat section. The turkey prices were the best bar none and they had prime rib roasts for the best price I have seen in a long time. Other shoppers had also done their homework and were taking advantage of the great beef and turkey prices and stocking up. The Co-op has a great look to it's store which has a really good vibe going. The assortment was very very good with all the pork and chicken as well. Fantastic selection of dry goods as well. We found some different pastas that we just can't wait to try. Several different brand names with a great deal of local producers and businesses being supported. We are defiantly shopping ??️ more here. We grabbed a Co-op number and are now members to share in the cooperative ??”
“This place has items that are not found at a regular supermarket. If you are in search of different items, check this place out. They may have what you are looking for.”
“Love me some Sobeys! Don't you just LOVE their bakery section? My favorite is fresh baked tray buns, with some creamy Gouda cheese and either toupee ham or Grandpa ham from the deli.....yummmmm...great, now I am craving my favorite little lunch sandwiches again!”

“Absolute magic for Brits missing a taste of home! Amazing range of stock; even have M&S and Thorntons products. I was served by the loveliest lady too— Connie I think? Prices I have found are also the best in the city. Highly recommend a visit! ??????♂️??️??”
“Nice ambiance Safeway branch unlike their new color theme at other branches. Employees are helpful when you ask them especially the team leaders.
They have the best tasting cakes and pastries, not too sweet. They also have quality meats but pricey. I like the Grab and Go products especially Spinach/tuna/egg dips and sandwiches. I usually come here to buy a case of 40 pcs 500 ml bottled water which is comparable to other big grocery chains.”
“I'm so happy I found this place! ? The treats from the Poco Loco bakery inside the store are so damn good! When I found out I had to cut sugar and gluten out of my diet I was absolutely heartbroken. But let me tell you... you can get substitutes that taste just as good to satisfy your sugar cravings!!! Sugar Free and More had everything I was looking for and more!”
“Seems a bit in transition. Pizza is rarely on, yet highly advertised. City of Edmonton wants to move the postal outlet. Neighborhood doesn't seem to agree and has quite the petition going.”
“Cathy is freaking incredible!! She was our barista at Starbucks and she really went above and beyond ?? She makes THE best Starbucks!!! Love her so much, her customer service is excellent and she always has a smile on her face,”

“Good stock! Has everything you want + more. Lots of Alberta/Edmonton brewing companies which I really appreciate. I accidentally dropped my bottle after purchasing and they were so kind about it and helped me out so much. Workers are nice and ready to chat!”
“The shop is quite large and I visited there for halal meat. I am happy with their service and quality of the meat. However, they still have the space to occupy various types of grocery items and vegetables. It'll be helpful for their customers to complete their weekly shopping from one place rather than moving other shops.”
“Great selection of Iranian brands, their stock of products are not consistent. Some shipments get delayed, so keep that in mind when stocking up.
The personnel are pretty polite, but when I asked them to check their inventory for 3 or 4 different products, they didn’t take the time.
Nonetheless, I guess it’s a pretty decent choice in Edmonton. I have been to Iranian grocery stores in different cities which are incomparable to this one, first of all I don’t think this store identifies as an Iranian supermarket, I may be wrong, Second the Iranian diaspora population in the other cities are much larger and create a bigger demand.
I think it’s worth stopping by once and judging on your own. I am quite neutral to them.
I think the barbari bread they have is very tasty.”
“Been going to this place for years. Nice staff and real high quality Mediterranean goods. My sister is obsessed with their meat pitas and they have a better price point than the Mediterranean Bakery.”
