I recently made the switch from USAA to Desert Financial after moving to the area. Since USAA doesn’t offer physical branches, I was really looking forward to having access to in-person banking. After hearing great things about Desert Financial from friends, I decided to check it out—and I’m so glad I did!
From the moment I walked in, the experience was exceptional. The front desk staff was welcoming and got me checked in quickly. Kathleen assisted me with opening both a checking and savings account. She was incredibly polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Kathleen took the time to explain the benefits of banking with Desert Financial, what it means to be part of a credit union, and even shared some of the organization’s history.
I was genuinely impressed with the level of customer service from Kathleen and the entire branch team. I’m looking forward to being a long-term member of Desert Financial!”

I once forgot my work name tag and they called me to let me know they were holding it for me until I could pick it up. “Have both my business and personal accounts at Academy Bank I love the fact that you can make cash deposits at any Walmart into your Academy Bank account its good if you travel somewhere and receive cash for work while you are there, j you can put the cash in your Academy Bank account there is a small fee, but its like having a branch anywhere there is a Walmart. I believe there is a cash deposit limit per day, check with the bank.”

“It's very rare that I give a five-star review, but today the gentleman who answered my phone call was not only knowledgeable and very helpful, he was friendly, and had a good sense of humor as well. Whoever manages this location needs to make sure that they keep Grover around!I loved this account when I opened it, as it had zero charge on ATM fees which was logical as they only have a couple of ATMs on the west side and they're over 10 miles from my house.Unfortunately, that changed a few years ago and I wasn't aware until I saw hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of fees on my account. $5.50 each (3+2.5)It would have been nice to know, they should have notified me, or at least giving me a credit on a number of the transactions at the point I found out about it. Neither happened.They really need to go into a business relationship with another ATM company, as it's so unreasonable to charge that much for such a basic service when you don't have enough ATMs across town to accommodate.I was thinking about closing this account but the service I received today was so top notch that I might reconsider.Great job Grover!”
