“When it comes to the many pet stores in Richmond, Bodega Pets Food and Supplies stands out as the city’s brightest gem. From my first visit, I knew they were going to be my go-to pet store; and my experiences since then have been consistently outstanding.I have always found Bodega Pets’ product quality and variety excellent. They don’t waste any shelf space with novelty items that feel cheap or have no utility. Instead, they stock their shelves with toys and tools that are durable, and great at filling their purpose. The rope pull toy I bought, for example, was an instant hit with my larger Doberman; and the leash I got which had a stretchable tether and a lifetime warranty saved my shoulders whenever my Doberman suddenly tugged me forwards during his walks. Of course I can’t personally review everything they sell in the store, but just take a quick walk in the isles and you can spot a variety of things that have great use for pets big and small.As for the food, I can say that they are fresh and nutritious. I’ve never seen dog food refrigerated to keep their optimal freshness until I visited this store (I was quite awed, lol). And the staff suggested many different brands to cater to my dogs’ unique digestive needs.The store itself is clean, bright, and well organized. For drivers, they’re conveniently located right beside Richmond’s central No. 3 Road. Transit users can conveniently arrive after a 4 minute walk from the Canada Lines’s Aberdeen Station. Since they’re my preferred pet store, I pay them a visit despite a 20 minute walk there.The owners, who also serve as the staff most of the time, are another big part of the great experience at Bodega Pets. They are welcoming and friendly and are clearly passionate about pets (without ever being pushy). They know which products will improve the quality of life for you and your pets, and they will inform you of them so you can make the best decision for yourself. You can also tell that the owners and workers are great people in general. The way they treat you makes you really feel like a part of a passionate, local community. Many other places have only ever made me feel like a wallet with legs.If you’re looking for a specialty pet store to regularly go to, there really isn’t much reason to look beyond Bodega Pets. They’re a gem of a local store whose outstanding reputation has the products and service to back it. And with all the effort I see the owners putting into the store, they have earned my trust; and I have the confidence to believe they can earn yours as well.”
