The cleaning took less than 20 mins and all brown plaque was removed leaving Doggo with shining teeth. The service was affordable and they provided complementary nail trimming. I’ve raved to friends with dogs about our experience and now to the internet. Can’t say enough good things!

We got a kitten and it turned into a miniature lion before we even knew what was going on. Turns out she's part norwegian forest cat and she looks like it lol. Two coats..I had no idea what to do. So now we have a cat that needs pretty frequent grooming. Well more than I've ever done in my life which is zero really. Nails clipped, the occasional rare bath if needed. But nothing like what our newest addition needs. So this place is a new place and probably frequent for us in the future.

But, yesterday (on only our second visit there), the staff at Mucky Mutt wanted to see if they could successfully trim them ... and they did! It took three of them to pet him, give him treats, and tell him what a good boy he was but they got it done without stressing my dog out. Thank you to all the kind and patient staff! <3

1413 Camosun St, VictoriaLesley always does a fantastic job with my Misiu's groom! Switched to Fernwood Grooming after having a few too many close calls with other groomers cutting my pomeranian's hair too short. Haven't looked back since and I'm always really happy with the work they've done.
He's a nervous guy, too, but I can tell when I pick him up that he's calmed down quite a bit. It helps that she gives him treats and he gets to spend time with her dogs, too. :)
The little bandana is always the sweetest touch.

What I enjoy most about this program is the philosophy of letting dogs truly be dogs—giving them freedom and space to be themselves instead of micromanaging or over-controlling their behaviours. It’s less about rigid management and more about understanding where your dog is at: when to simply let them be, when to step in with support, and when a correction is actually appropriate.
This program helped me approach dogs less as a math equation and more as individuals. It has shifted the way I think about training: I learned to pause, observe, and respond thoughtfully instead of trying to predict or control every outcome.
Another highlight is the community it creates. You’re surrounded by people who share the same passion, which makes it easy to bounce ideas around, ask questions without judgment, and deepen your understanding of why, how, and when to act with dogs.
The balance of hands-on training and observation is invaluable. Watching other dogs work through challenges, it pushed me to think outside the box and be more creative in my handling. This program has not only improved the way I interact with my own dogs, but also given me a clearer sense of what’s going on in their heads and what’s truly supportive versus unnecessary interference.
For anyone looking to expand their skills, gain perspective, and walk away with practical tools for real-life training, Monique’s Shadow Week is an incredible experience

537 Herald St, VictoriaI was visiting from the mainland and did some research to find a good coffee spot and let me tell you, Union Specific did NOT disappoint. My iced latte was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, the quality of the coffee is just pure magic.
On top of that, I’m a huge BLT lover, and this place has the best BLT I’ve ever had. The ingredients are fresh, the bread perfectly toasted, and every bite was incredible. Their sweets are divine too, I had the berry white chocolate scone and it was absolutely delicious.
I was so excited to come back the next day for another coffee and BLT, but I realized they’re closed on Sundays ?. Ever since then, I’ve been planning my next trip just so I could visit twice this time. Unfortunately, because they close early and my ferry was late, I didn’t make it on Friday as I’d hoped. My only wish is that they were open later and on Sundays so I could selfishly enjoy it even more!
They will always be my first stop whenever I visit Victoria. I can’t recommend Union Specific enough if you love coffee, BLTs, or just amazing treats, you need to go.

Yvonne and her daughter Sedona made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in — the kind of hospitality you can’t fake. Every dish was outstanding: the Caesar salad was crisp and perfectly seasoned, the baked feta wrapped in filo was rich and comforting, the vegetarian pasta was beautifully balanced, and the fish of the day was cooked to perfection.
The mango cocktail was bright and delicious, and the Chardonnay paired beautifully with the meal. You can feel the care in both the food and the atmosphere. A true gem — can’t wait to return.
