“This is my favorite Trader Joe's. I like tge way the store is played out, I like the workers, love the location - prices are the same at all TJ's, however, next door is Safeway, and we all know how high they can be.
My only complaint is they keep stop providing some products that I just loved - like now they only provide their frozen pie crust during the Oct - Jan season. Anyone that bakes, bakes all year round ?”
“It's a good little grocery store. You can pop in here and get some things you need, especially if you're looking for natural foods, organic, vegan type of things. Also if you need some supplements they have a large selection of that. They do not have a large selection of products in general, but they have some different products that may be hard to find other places.”
“Excellent spot for fresh fruit and veg. Much better quality here than at the chain grocers. Bulk section is priced decently. Their pantry and fridge items are spendy, but the convenience is great when I don’t want to hit multiple stores to make up a meal.”
“My favorite place to shop. I think the produce freezers may be going out cause the produce was going bad too quickly. But once I complained about it, seems the issue was fixed. Produce last longer as of lately. Im happy about that. The people here are amazing though love the workers.”

“When you need a fresh fruits and veggie pick-up during the middle of the week and don’t want to deal with the hassle of going all the way to Safeway this place is great especially if you’re within walking distance. They don’t jack up the prices here either the prices you get here for fruits and veggies is the same as Safeway.”
“Nice local market, not as large as others but always plenty of fresh fruit & veggie options. As well as other local fare such as hummus, bakery delights, bread, eggs, jam, spices, tamales, etc. The biggest concern would be the extremely limited parking situation. They basically close off a neighborhood street to host this market, so always shady & cool.”
“Only place in Alameda where we can stock up on frozen pelmeni, our favorite cold weather instant dinner. We don’t have to go into Darkest Oakland any more (or out to Walnut Creek).”
“Nice little shop. I was impressed with the wide variety of imported beverages- so many intriguing flavors! I grabbed some Cadbiry Twirls, and an absolutely fantastic Nestle Baklava bar that was sumptuous. Not overly sweet and it had beautiful crunch from the phyllo and chopped pistachios. I'm scheming a return for some of the halal butcher counter offerings and some of the middle eastern breads on offer.”
“The egg sandwiches were perfect and the customer service was very good no matter if they were having fun at their job or making coffee and multitasking. They have very good customer service and I'm going to be there every Monday from now on. I'm disappointed that I haven't discovered this place until now.”

“They need to fix the store hours here. The hours are not right.this store opened and closed when it wants to please wait the store hours please . The store owner is great”
“Great products. The store is pricey but that’s understandable since it’s independent and has quality goods. Only downside is don’t go there after 6:30pm because everyone working there then is clearly bothered with your presence even if it’s not that close to closing time.”
“Great place, has a big variety of stuff for a tiny corner store. Wonderfully friendly owner and his son who are very accommodating and caring. I go out of my way to come here often even though I have a closer corner store to me.”

“Living in the Bay Area, I think I prefer this Target over any anywhere else. For the most part, it's organized, and I'm able to find more employees if I need help. I like the selection, and they categorize all their items. I also feel like that I can find what I want. I had been going to the Emeryville location, but I like how not a lot of things are on the floor or missing from packaging.”
“Had so so much definitely has everything I need and so much I don't almost worse then going to tarjay I could easily drop 100 on things I don't need and have wanted to try really friendly cashier's stopped without being irritated to check price on things love this place everyone including customers were happy so surreal”
“Roberto and his wife are very kind and welcoming. They've been here for a long time, weathered through covid and are still going. Been stopping by since before and long after high school as I live near by, sad to be finally moving away from this lovely neighborhood. They're a small family run corner store. Help support your local businesses and families, grab a drink and snack if you're nearby and say hi to the lovely people. Mom and pop stores are becoming more and more rare by the year...”
“They have a great variety of products ... I love going here because I usually find everything I'm looking for, without the crowd ...Yes, because it's a mom/pop store, I pay a lil bit more but it's worth the convenience of great parking, no crowd ... and at the end of it all, I only paid $3 to $5 more then going to a big store ...”
“Awesome way the store is design but there is a refrigerator in the back not being used and I think it be should be with the other and unless if it's not working or broken then that make more since but I think the refrigerator that not being used should be use like all the other and there should be price tags on everything there is in the store and one last thing that store should take ebt cuz every store takes it so this store should take it to”

“I always stop by for some soda. They carry Mexican glass bottled sprite and coke which taste so much better than the American coke and that's why I like going here.”
“I love this grocery store. They have a huge selection of items. Are they the most affordable grocery store? No. But they have everything you can want and they have a security guard at the door. Some people find that to be comforting (others may find it to be off-putting). If you want a grocery store with plenty of variety, I recommend this one.”
“Have to say , tonight was my 1st time coming here . I have lived on this island for 7 years and never stepped foot ( it is kind of hidden) Whomever was behind the counter tonight , is the reason I will return , time & time again . Fantastic and polite service , extremely welcoming , & extremely rare these days”

“The best Safeway I've ever been to. Best customer service. Hard workers. There to help. Clean ambiance. The very best. And so inclusive, thank you for promoting lunar new year in a country that overlooks the Asian American crisis. Thank you for always providing superior service. I love shopping at Safeway on Island Drive in Alameda, CA. It might not be the largest supermarket but it is dependable. Small but mighty. "Small" depends on who's comparing size. Hands down, my favorite Safeway ever!!!!”
“I really like the three combo deal they have in the deli department, it comes with two side salads of your choice, also with two pieces of chicken for only nine dollars. Also got to love the digital coupons on the Safeway app, you get major savings, I purchased the ben & Jerry's ice cream, the original price cost $7.99 and with the digital coupon, it only cost me $2.97. Also to mention with the excellent customer I received from the cashier who checked out my groceries, she was the one to help me with the digital coupon, to help save money on the ice cream. She didn't have a name tag on, but on the receipt, it said your cashier was Tangie, definitely shopping here again, it's hard to find a convenient store, that have great workers that provide good customer service and have major deals. This Safeway is must, I will be coming back.”
“I usually come in here when I'm at Lincoln Park across the street. This is a decent sized market, good selection of drinks and snacks. Obviously it's located on High Street not too far from the High Street Bridge, and the 'market' part has a decent selection also. Limited parking as High street is usually kind of busy depending on the time of day, nice option for the area!!”

“A big, clean, well organized Safeway in Alameda!!The prices in Safeway have gone up, so download the App for the best deals, the just for you savings are good. In this store, I have always found what I'm looking for rather easily. Also, the fruit in this store seems to be a little fresher than other stores, in my opinion. Or maybe I just come once they have restocked.Located in the Alameda South Shore Shopping Center, there's plenty of parking here, and they also have the Safeway gas station available. One of the few Safeways I actually like shopping in!!”

“Only real downside of the store is that one of the doors in is pretty much permenantly not open & the deli section doesn't have as many options as other safeways, generally otherwise is fine”
“I have used the Southshore Safeway for over twenty years. There has always been a great community of employees and familiar faces who are helpful, kind, and hardworking. Since COVID I’ve really enjoyed their Drive Up & Go service too. It’s easy to use and convenient.
Today there was a mistake with my order I got a quick call while I waited in my car with an explanation and a quick resolve.
Lastly, I also use their pharmacy and that group of knowledgeable people are the best!
Appreciate this store and mall very much.”
“I have been here a few times mostly for a coffee and pastry. I have had their babka pastry, chocolate croissant and the yummy bacon and cheese pastry.
What inspired me to write this review though is the service I received today. I called the store to ask if they had forbidden rice. The owner went and looked for me and they had it. But it gets better. As I was there I realized I needed some mirin for a dinner I was to prepare tonight. He said he didn’t have any in the shelves. Then he said he could help me anyway. He went to the back at the sandwich service counter and had a big bottle of it for the food he prepares. He asked me how much I needed and handed me a paper bowl of mirin!! He, the owner, went out of his way like that was awesome. I will continue to patronize this market. Yay for local neighborhood businesses! ??”
