“Treasures of Tibet Store is the best place to shop in Berkeley for clothing, blankets, jewelry and gifts. It is owned by a fabulous family and Peki and Thubtan are such friendly and generous owners. They run the business with integrity and kindness as well as being so helpful and friendly. Their store items are of stupendous and excellent quality: beautiful and soft materials in their blankets and ponchos. They have a wide variety of clothing, from excellent , colorfully designed cotton pants to a diverse range of Tibetan blouses and coats. The earrings are truly beautiful and of many lovely gemstones. There are many rings to choose from. It is a truly well run store with so much to choose from, even big and beautiful abalone shells! This store deserves 6 plus rating. It is a well organized and beautiful store with such friendly owners who will go out of their way to give you the very best service.”

“The selection of gifts are vibrant, uniquely designed, and thoughtfully curated. I appreciated how the store owner allowed me to pair and match various baskets even though they were filled with inventory. I was able to pick up last-minute Christmas presents from Nepal, Kenya and India. If you are looking to add more color or geometric designs to your household, there's a drool-worthy section of constellation-inspired houseware (like salt cellars with stars on them) and beautiful basket planters all over the shop.”

“The first thing the owner showed me was a silver moldavite ring. Out of dozens of beautiful stones in the case, he somehow picked the one I was already carrying in my bag. Five minutes later we were discussing tektites, meteorites, Tibetan jewelry, gold versus silver, and why we use copper electrical wiring instead of gold. The owner is knowledgeable, funny and full of stories. My favorite involved the Chinese shopkeeper nearby, with whom he shares an evening cigarette and apparently a quiet, politics-free friendship. At some point, he gave him bodhi beads. The man had no idea what they were but accepted them anyway. Perfect. I left with a Tibetan Ah and a small vajra/dorje pendants. Gifts of Tara is part jewelry shop, part cultural archive, part unexpected conversation you will remember. Go in to browse. You may leave with a pendant, a Tibet or meteorite story, and several new thoughts about the universe. ☄”

“Owned by a lovely hard-working woman. To be honest, I don’t go into the store much even though I live nearby and I went in for the first time and found myself a wonderful well-made lined white linen dress that I can wear to the rehearsal dinner in a warm climate. And I paid half of what I might’ve paid from any other store, it’s crowded with merchandise so you have to look carefully , but there are very nice things”

“A good museum for contemporary art. It's big but with a lot of hopeful empty space. It didn't take me that long to finish the displays. The art is beautiful but it needs bigger names to generate more appeal to the masses. Maybe they should reduce the $14 admission fee or just make it a free entry museum. Their gift shop is very nice, go check it out. There's a cafeteria but it was closed the day I was there. It's better to get there on public transportation than to hunt for parking spaces. Have a meal after the visit at one of the many nice restaurants nearby.”

“Lobsang’s shop has such an amazing energy! He has great products and is a super kind soul. Very friendly and welcoming , great conversation - Lobsang was generous in sharing stories. This was a wonderful experience. We walked away with a shampoo soap bar made in Kathmandu and a full heart - inspired to learn more about healing Tibetan singing bowls and visit Nepal and India!”
