“If you’re into art, photography, or architecture, the Taschen Store in Beverly Hills is a must-visit. The store has a curated selection of coffee table books, many of which are artfully designed and quite rare. I spent hours browsing through their incredible collection. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality and selection make it worth the visit. The staff was helpful and really knowledgeable about the books.”

“Auntie Barbara's kids is a great stop. I have been shopping there for years and have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I drive from Newport Beach because they have such unusual things. When ever I give a gift from Auntie Barbara's it is always well received because it is simply put unique and beautiful. They have a large selection or both boys and girls clothes that happen to be adorable. I took my granddaughter there and she thought it was the best store ever. The staff was very polite and engaging with her and she felt like a grown-up shopping. She can't wait to go back. Today when so many stores lack customer service, this store gives great customer service. Their recommendations are always spot on. If you're looking for a quality gift this is the place. Don't let some of the negative reviews cause you not to go. This is definitely a gem. My one wish was that it was closer to me!!!”

“Great little used bookstore. A lot of novels and art books. They even have some real cheap used books if you don't mind some really beat up old books. I got 3 books for $5 total from the bargain section. But they have their share of hard to find more expensive books as well.”

“Convenient to the 33 bus line, and lots of downtown Culver City’s best restaurants, this bookstore is a must visit for bibliophiles that love romance. Elsewhere that might warrant an eye roll but at The Ripped Bodice, you’re in romance heaven. There’s everything here from beautiful, classic Jane Austen editions with gilt-covered pages to the newest, hottest romances topping charts at all major media outlets. There’s great attention paid to LGBTQIA+ books, both those about those who are and by authors who are. There’s a cute event space, there are stickers and gift items for the special bibliophile in your life (or for you!), and there’s no high pressure sales here. Just fellow bibliophiles, there when you need them. Or to finally ring up your purchase that’s far more than you planned to spend. This isn’t a place you leave empty handed!”

“Children's Book World has the best selection of children's books anywhere. The staff is so welcoming. Getting up close and personal with authors and illustrators is a privilege. Watching Lisa Yee and Dan Santat banter about their latest book, The Misfits, was a treat. The first pages have me hooked. As soon as I have a cup of java in hand, I'll return to The Misfits. Thanks to Children's Book World for this (and many other) wonderful experience!”

“Good idea to open such an artistic book store with quite a selection.
I just don’t like the smell here that mixes painting, and formaldehyde.
I know there are so many restaurants, cafes surrounded, but still thinking why there is not a coffee shop inside a book store? Why a book store can not be more spacious, and having a space to read? I just did quick browsing. I like the books. Each one is so unique. But I don’t feel comfy to stay.
I think I do have a higher expectation when comes to a book store.
Such a big city, just have sooooo many restaurants. But not even a huge book store?
People stay in their phones, posting fake, and dramatic photos or videos.
No place that we can feel comfortable to nurture our brain in the useful books? Soo sad!
Whenever I open TIKTOK seeing those stupid people getting their attention in several ways? I just asked myself WTF? Does this advanced technology make us more superficial? Not saying reading books will definitely make us profound. Nothing wrong to be fun.
It is just too much mental trash on social media.
We need a huge library in a modern way in LA?
Can some rich people help us?”

“It's not as big as your standard B&N, but that's what adds to the charm of this converted cinema, turned bookstore.

“The store is small compared to some of the other Kinokuniya branches I've had the pleasure of visiting, but it packs a punch. Has a little bit of everything. It is incorporated with a grocery store and a small food court area. Easy to find and very helpful staff.”

“I go here every year for my client's book release and signing. It's a smaller book store packed with books and helpful staff. It's nice to be able to still go to a bookstore as opposed to ordering online.”

“This is a busy bookstore, but with all of the customers they have, they still were able to help me. They were polite and helpful. Only reason I gave them a 4 star is because they didn't have the magazine I was looking for (2600). Either they were out or they no longer carry it. They did look it up on their computer but nothing came up for the magazine. I hope they were just out of them, I'll keep looking”

Nestled within this historic market, the store provides an authentic and immersive experience for art book enthusiasts, showcasing their iconic, oversized volumes on fashion, photography, and design amidst the bustling energy. It feels less like a traditional bookstore and more like a carefully curated pop-up gallery, making it a truly distinctive and inspiring stop for both locals and tourists seeking quality and authenticity in their literary pursuits.”
