Hello PURE Dog Food
5741 Buckingham Pkwy STE D, Culver CityWe have tried several so called human grade dog foods. We wanted to use the best and asked our vet for many years and a close friend also, what he recommended and he suggested we try Pure Dog Food. He had nothing to say but great things and how good it was for our dog. He said the cost was a little more, but that would be nothing to keep our dog healthy and live longer, and in the long run we would not being spending all the expensive costs of medically having to treat a sick dog, one thing that us dog lovers surely know. It doesn’t have added ingredients to try and keep the freshness like all those typical kibble pet foods that add carcinogenic ingredients that can cause cancer!! And all the flavors, different vegetables, and vitamins that are sourced and made in the U.S.A. make it #1 in our book and most of all for our Bailey! Thank you Pure Dog Food!!!!!

Dog and Cat Dentist, Inc.
9599 Jefferson Blvd, Culver CityAmazing Service!! My dog is a very scared baby when he sees any vet. He's the dog known everywhere to snap at people lol. He went in to the exam shaking and came out calm. That's when I knew Dr Tsugawa was great energy :) I warned Dr Tsugawa's staff prior to him going in for the exam, that my dog may not let him look in his mouth but Dr Tsugawa was the only person my dog has ever willingly let look. My dog had dental surgery today. I dropped him off at 10am. Around lunch I received texts from Dr Tsugawa of the the X-rays and his thoughts. He phoned soon after to clarify and see if I had any questions. We went ahead with the procedure. I received a text as soon as my dog was awake and normal around 12.30pm. At 2pm I picked him up. He was alert but a little unwell, as expected. Dr Tsugawa came out to speak to me, his staff clearly and slowly explained the medication to me and I was good to go home. I liked that Dr Tsugawa only wanted my dog on one medication for a few days for the pain/swelling rather than having a bunch of medications, which other vets always seem to prescribe after surgeries. The entire process start to finish was so smooth, clearly communicated and my dog is now at home resting and on the mend. Even at home I texted Dr Tsugawa a few questions and he responded promptly. I want to thank Dr Tsugawa and his team for the great service. I have already recommended you to friends.

Eye Care for Animals - Culver City
9599 Jefferson Blvd, Culver CityWhen my dog's eye doc from VCA relocated, I followed him to his new practice. Unfortunately, the rates went up significantly, and it was not sustainable as my dog has a chronic condition. Her primary care vet recommended Dr. Fahrer. It did take a couple of weeks to get an appointment, but it wasn't urgent. I am surprised to see the feedback on staff as I found them to be pleasant and efficient. Dr. Fahrer is very caring and I was pleasantly surprised at checkout. All the routine tests for her condition (pressure check, tear production, eye stain) were included. VCA charged extra for them. Additionally, when my dog only needed interocular pressure checks (IOP, glaucoma), it was done by a very capable vet tech, and I was only charged for the vet tech. I think the order of the day for any veterinary practice is patience. There is a shortage of vets, and especially specialists.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Hey, Sunshine Kitchen
3863 Overland Ave, Culver CityStopped in for dinner to try this new place out. The interior was very bright and cheery, as well as the cashier who helped us. There is some seating inside (~20) and additional on the patio out front. Parking can be problematic, so go around to the back where the Best Buy is located. I ordered a Hearty Beef Bowl with a side of Potato Salad and started with Chickpea Nuggets. The nuggets were sort of a cross between a croquet and a falafel. The outside appeared to be battered and the inside was sort of soft and mushy. Flavor wasn't bad, but the texture was not my favorite. I probably would not order these again, as falafels are my favorite and these aren't anything like them. The Hearty Beef Bowl, on the other hand, was quite hearty! It's a LOT of food and it definitely filled me up. It's a good value at the price. The Potato Salad was another miss for me. I wasn't a fan of the cut of the potatoes nor the firmness. I much prefer less uniformly shaped potatoes and a little less "crunch". I'm not saying it was bad, just not my style. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Nothing not to like about this place except for the problematic parking situation.

MENSHO TOKYO
9516 Culver Blvd, Culver CityThe food has a great taste and I can tell the recipe of the broth is thoughtfully designed and flavored. The service was fine but the restaurant felt too crowded and loud. While I understand it’s a ramen spot, their décor and presentation are more refined than most, so the hectic atmosphere detracted slightly from the overall experience.

Baked Bar LA
10848 Washington Blvd, Culver CityBaked bar is just an awesome little community hub! Having lived in Culver for three years now, it’s always packed for such a small space. The staff is lovely, great with dietary needs, and a positive environment. I also love how they have local products they sell, and their own homemade creations too. Anyone looking for a hole in the wall spot is missing out on this gem!

EK Valley
6121 Washington Blvd, Culver CityThis is the Oaxacan/Mexican restaurant you wish you had in your neighborhood. Low key, quiet, festive, down home and kind, with food you would think someone made it at home for you and wanted you to feel special. You can get a knockout margarita there or bring your own champagne and wine (as I did).
The service is outright sweet and gentle. The playlist worth tracking down.
