Pet Grooming

Claws ‘N’ Paws
66502 Buena Vista Ave, Desert Hot SpringsWe recently took in a 5 1/2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Mac as a foster dog. His owner recently passed away and it’s possible that he was never groomed in his entire life. Needless to say, Mac was very shaggy, dirty, and overgrown and he desperately needed a full grooming.
Claws n Paws were happy to take him in. They told us it would take 5 hours, but they ended up keeping him for 7 1/2 hours. They said they like to take the process very slowly to do a thorough cleaning and grooming and to reduce stress on the animal.
I’m writing this review because I am not only impressed by Claws n Paws and their work, but also because Mac is a completely new dog! He is so youthful and energetic, not having to carry around all that overgrown dirty fur, and he doesn't pant in room temperature anymore! I never knew a good grooming could change a dog so drastically. He looks great and definitely feels amazing. And the price we were charged was very reasonable, we just had to leave a tip.
Included are some before and after photos. THANK YOU Claws n Paws!!! If we were keeping Mac, we would definitely bring him back again and again.

Pet Sitting & Training

Kamp Kelly
13038 Julian Dr, Desert Hot SpringsI was in town for work and needed someone to watch my dog Roscoe. Kelly took him to help me out despite being full and busy. She constantly sent me pics and updates and fed the dog well. She even shared a muffin she had baked with me when I picked him up. Amazing lady giving great service with love. I 100% recommend her if in the area and need a sitter.

Dillon's Burgers & Beers Restaurant
64647 Dillon Rd, Desert Hot SpringsAwesome food, love the staff and the relaxed dive bar vibes, it's a comfy place to grab food and drinks. Try the bbq, burgers, and the jalapeno poppers! This location and the one up the hill in Morongo Valley have similar vibes but the DHS one is a bit of a bigger location. I wish they stayed open a bit later into the night, my only feedback.

Azure Palm Café
67589 Hacienda Ave, Desert Hot SpringsAZURE PALMS CAFE has become one of my favorite spots for vegan food in Desert Hot Springs. There are not a lot of quality vegan options in the area, so this place is truly appreciated. My favorite meal is the black bean walnut burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun, served with a side salad, pickle, and vegan Thousand Island dressing. Absolutely delicious and filling without feeling heavy. I also highly recommend the Green Goddess Salad with vegan vinaigrette instead of the regular dressing. It comes packed with green beans, spinach, avocado, cucumber, soybeans, and sprouts — fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. The cafe is located inside the hot springs resort, so you can enjoy it whether you’re staying there or just visiting as a guest. The café closes around 7 PM, but they still offer desserts, grab-and-go items, and regular food service until about 11 PM, which is super convenient. Pros:• Excellent vegan options that are hard to find in Desert Hot Springs• Fresh, healthy ingredients and customizable vegan dressings• Relaxing hot springs resort atmosphere with late-night food availability Highly recommend for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone looking for healthy food in the Desert Hot Springs area. Delicias Mexican Cuisine
66121 Pierson Blvd, Desert Hot SpringsI would definitely go back to Delicias! I had the enmoladas with Mexican rice and an horchata. The mole had the perfect blend of heat and spices, and the horchata was clearly made from scratch—you could taste the evaporated milk and freshly ground cinnamon. I make horchata at home, and I have to admit, theirs might actually be better than mine! 😄
The portions were generous, and I loved that the food came out nice and hot. Others at our table ordered the taquitos, and they were HUGE! I tasted one, and it was delicious—plenty of meat inside and very nicely seasoned. The table salsa was also delicious with a really nice chile heat.
I loved the bright Mexican-pink decor—it felt like stepping into a little restaurant in Mexico. The staff was attentive and welcoming throughout our meal.
It’s a bit of a drive for me, but absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m bringing friends and family!
