“A great room that was modern. There was a pretty big gap under the door that let I. Some unwanted noise during the night from some party guest. It had a good selection for the complimentary breakfast and they even offered to give us a free ride in their limousine service for our dinner date. A good spot for a night.”

“Every single person involved with our service was top notch. I have been to many fine restaurants in Paris, London and the US and would honestly say the level of service (LOS) at Restaurant 301 and the Hotel Carter were some of the best trained and accommodating wait staff and hotel staff that I have ever experienced. The menu was replete and well prepared. The wine selection was the best of local California and Oregon varietals. An experience that should not be missed.”
“Recommend. Great water pressure and super hot water. Quiet room and bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, oatmeal, the whole 9Y. $130 on Priceline for a Thursday night stay. 10/10 super friendly staff.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect Stay – Highly Recommend
I had an amazing stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed.
The room was spacious and spotless, with a cozy bed and modern design. I especially appreciated the pool—it was clean, relaxing, and a great place to unwind after a long day. The laundry room was also super convenient and made my stay even more comfortable.
The location was great, and everything I needed was either at the hotel or just a short walk away. Overall, this was a five-star experience, and I’d definitely stay here again.”

“Staff was very polite, only thing that disappointed was that there were no eggs and bacon for the breakfast. It was just sausage and potatoes and they had gravy but I wished there was bacon. Not really into sausage although the one they had wasn’t bad at all. Just me and my kids prefer bacon over sausage. The pool was nice, but the shower handle in there to rinse off the chlorine was broken so we had to wait til we got back to the room. Overall nice visit, friendly staff. It was just a little inconvenient with the parking and gates the way they are.”

“Eureka inn is a truly beautiful place. Built in 1922 and hosted many celebrities and politicians. The decor and furnishings in the hotel just makes you feel like you went back in time through some type of a portal.
We stayed there for a week and it was perfect for us as far as price and location to my brother’s house.
Lots of nice vintage shops near by and the BIG redwoods are about an hour north of Eureka.
Beautiful swimming pool, but close during our visit in February, burr a bit cold.
The hotel has a lot of sitting areas in the main lobby, set in different groupings.
They have a continental breakfast with good selection to choose from and open is from 6:30-9:30.
They don’t make the rooms up every day, but they will upon request, which is okay with me because I’m just going to jump right back into bed.
The hotel was very quiet, no late night drunk people talking loud and no kids running up and down the hallway.
Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel has been closed since the Covid scare. Too bad it looked like it would have been great place to eat. Hopefully they can reopen it again.
Thanks to Rachel and Kayla. You were great hosts!”

“The water pressure was super strong, which was nice but I was a little concerned about washing my face with so much pressure, lol. Otherwise everything was fine.”

“My wife, our four children, and our service animal recently stayed at the Red Lion Hotel in Eureka. I was very impressed with the spaciousness of the room, its cleanliness, and the complimentary breakfast bar, which was exactly what we needed before heading out for the day. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly yet safe place to bring your family, this is the place to go. A huge shoutout to Miss Connie, who went above and beyond to assist us with some questions we had after our check out. You definitely have our business when we visit again on our next adventure!!”
“I have remodeled rooms and performed maintenance on this facility since 2015. The standard of service, comfort and privacy is unmatched by the competition in the City of Eureka in it's class.”
“The hotel was exceptional. Much nicer than most two-star hotels. It was super clean and well appointed.
The location isn't great, only because there are a lot of people wandering around the streets till the wee hours of the night. But that happens throughout the whole city.”

“We enjoyed the Friday Night Street Fair nearby and loved the live band in the ballroom. Cocktails and dancing made for a really fun evening.
We originally booked through a third-party platform, and prior to arrival, my husband called to ask about the Moonraker room... the one Bill Murray had previously stayed in. The staff member told us we were all set and that she was holding it for us. At no point did she clarify that our reservation was actually for a different room type.
So it came as a surprise when we checked in and were not placed in the Moonraker room but rather a queen room with no TV. This was not the room we had been led to believe was waiting for us. Our travel companions received both email and text confirmations, but we didn’t receive anything. I called the night before check in just to verify, fully expecting we were confirmed for the Moonraker room based on that conversation.
After our stay, I spoke with the owner directly and truly appreciated how she listened and took the time to make things right. She kindly offered us a future stay in the Moonraker room at a discounted rate, which was incredibly generous and shows she values her guests.
One thing I’ve since learned is that booking through third-party platforms can sometimes lead to miscommunications like this. It also takes a significant cut from small local businesses. If you’re considering staying at this historic boutique hotel in Eureka, I highly recommend booking directly with the property. It helps avoid confusion and better supports the people behind the stay.
The staff was friendly and the location is fantastic, but a simple clarification during that first call would have gone a long way in managing expectations. That said, the owner’s follow-up left a lasting impression.”
